Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
The Technical Advisor Specialist acts as a Senior Solution Specialist for the IT Services portfolio, leading practical, scalable, secure, and reusable technology solutions that enable Digital Services through multiple digital technologies.
This role supports the Experience and Enablement mandate by designing best-in-class digital experiences and translating business needs into end-to-end solution designs across enterprise workflow platforms, ITSM, automation, AI operating models, cloud, integration, infrastructure, and data capabilities. The role ensures solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, target-state roadmaps, resiliency, security, compliance, and long-term IT Services objectives.
What you'll do here:
Technical Advisor Specialist Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end solutions spanning applications, integrations, APIs, data, cloud, infrastructure, security, and enterprise workflow platforms.
- Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, secure, and reusable solution designs.
- Evaluate technology options and recommend strategic solutions, including build-versus-buy analysis and cost/risk trade-offs.
- Lead architectural planning for complex transformation initiatives and align technical design with business requirements.
- Analyze the current IT environment to identify critical deficiencies, technical debt, obsolescence risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Consult with project, infrastructure, telecom, security, audit, and software engineering teams to ensure delivery alignment with approved architecture.
Enterprise Architecture Leadership
- Define solution architectures that support strategic business objectives, transformation priorities, and enterprise technology roadmaps.
- Develop and maintain architecture standards, principles, design patterns, implementation guidelines, and governance processes.
- Create, update, and maintain architecture models, roadmaps, strategies, and reusable capabilities.
- Lead architecture governance, design reviews, risk assessments, and compliance alignment.
- Understand, advocate, and promote the architecture vision and value proposition across IT and business communities.
Technology Governance
- Promote architecture consistency across platforms, products, and initiatives.
- Establish reusable standards, integration patterns, and enterprise capabilities.
- Support information security, resilience, compliance, operational, and audit requirements.
- Guide delivery teams through implementation of approved architectural standards and modernization practices.
- Lead and facilitate the evolution of architecture principles to support effective decision-making.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to future-state architecture vision, modernization strategies, and global IT architecture evolution.
- Support platform consolidation, AI operating models, enterprise workflow platforms, ITSM, cloud, and digital experience initiatives.
- Lead research and assessment of emerging technologies and identify practical adoption opportunities.
- Consider long-term business scenarios, regulatory and security requirements, mission-critical application obsolescence, and evolving technology offerings.
What you bring to the table:
- 10+ years of experience in information technology, including architecture or senior technical leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, APIs, cloud platforms, data integration, infrastructure, and security best practices.
- Strong knowledge of AI, automation, and systems orchestration, including how these capabilities improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and digital experiences.
- Experience with ITSM, enterprise workflow platforms, and digital transformation initiatives is preferred.
- ITIL 4 or ITIL v5 certification, or strong working knowledge of ITIL practices, is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across business, technology, security, telecom, infrastructure, audit, and engineering audiences.
- Organized, proactive, results-driven, and comfortable working in a constantly evolving technology environment.
- Team player and technical mentor with the ability to collaborate across diverse groups and quickly understand business and technology domains.
- Bilingual in French and English is required to interact regularly with English-speaking clients and colleagues across Canada.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada; Canadian work experience is not required.
