Full Job Description
About the Role
Prime Video is building the future of how the world discovers what to watch - and promotional content is where that discovery begins. Every piece of artwork is a customer's first impression, and it has to land in their language, their culture, and their emotional register. The Localization Enablement & Accessibility Program (LEAP) is hiring a Creative Director [Artwork Design] to own the creative vision for our AI-assisted promotional content platform.
This is a rare role at the intersection of craft and technology. You will direct both artists and AI models, setting up the artistic and emotional bar for promotional content. You won't choose between speed and craft - you'll design the hybrid workflows that deliver both, and you'll turn the creative judgment of your team into signals that make the models better over time. Your work will reach audiences in every market Prime Video serves.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the creative vision and quality standards for AI-assisted promotional content, including ethical guardrails for how AI is used in production.
- Define what "good" looks like - the bar for craft, cultural resonance, and emotional authenticity - and hold output to it across every market.
- Design and lead hybrid human-plus-AI workflows that pair AI throughput with human creative and cultural refinement, so scale never comes at the cost of quality.
- Lead the operations ramp-up of the promotional content pipeline - standing up production capacity, staffing and training the creative team, and scaling throughput to meet volume commitments across markets.
- Partner with science, product, and engineering to translate creative judgment into structured signals that improve the models over time - capturing craft, not discarding it as one-off edits.
- Drive the global expansion of AI-assisted promotional content, ensuring output is culturally and linguistically resonant market by market.
- Build and mentor a distributed creative bench, establishing the direction and standards that scale across languages and regions.
- Champion the use of AI technology in creative contexts. At Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, our approach to the implementation of generative AI is human-centered. We believe AI is an impactful tool that augments human creativity, never replacing it.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of design experience
- 4+ years in a creative leadership role, with direct responsibility for setting and enforcing creative standards across a team
- Proficiency with standard design and creative review tooling sufficient to evaluate assets, annotate feedback, and participate in production workflows
- Strong written communication skills, able to produce policy-grade documentation that is precise, consistent, and usable by teams at varying levels of creative seniority
- Experience operating inside a high-volume creative review function - QC, editorial oversight, content review, or creative operations where asset evaluation is structured, documented, and held to a repeatable standard.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with AI or automated creative systems in a creative, product, or quality capacity, with a working understanding of how model behavior is shaped by training data and feedback signals
- Experience in streaming, entertainment, or media, with fluency in the visual language of film and television content across genres, tonal registers, and audience segments
- Background in thumbnail, packaging, or key art, direct experience evaluating or producing the type of visual assets this role governs
- Demonstrated ability to build evaluation frameworks from first principles - creating rubrics, calibration tools, or scoring systems that hold up under volume and reviewer variation
- Experience managing and calibrating distributed review teams, maintaining consistency across reviewers who may be working across time zones, seniority levels, or content categories
- Familiarity with the intersection of brand standards and AI output ensuring that automated creative systems produce work that remains consistent with established brand identity
- Experience presenting creative quality data to senior leadership, translating operational and creative metrics into narratives that inform strategic decisions
