Position Overview
Client is seeking a skilled Design Engineer - Mechanical/Thermal to design and develop thermal management, HVAC, and ventilation systems for AC/DC power modules, data centers, IT and telecommunications infrastructure, and industrial facilities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or thermal engineering, HVAC system design, AutoCAD, equipment layouts, and mechanical system integration. The candidate will collaborate with structural and electrical engineering teams to develop detailed engineering drawings and support the integration of mechanical systems into modular power distribution and data center solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop thermal management, HVAC, and ventilation systems for AC/DC power modules, data centers, telecommunications infrastructure, and industrial facilities.
Provide engineering support for technical inquiries related to thermal and ventilation systems.
Develop detailed mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, and integration drawing packages for modular facilities and power distribution systems.
Prepare and review HVAC layouts, cable management systems, fire suppression layouts, and mechanical equipment arrangements.
Interpret construction drawings, engineering specifications, equipment submittals, and technical documentation.
Perform and review Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis to evaluate airflow, heat transfer, and thermal performance.
Review and approve mechanical product submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and design requirements.
Coordinate with structural, electrical, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
Research new thermal technologies, equipment solutions, and construction methods for data center and industrial applications.
Ensure designs meet applicable engineering standards, project requirements, and performance expectations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Relevant professional experience in mechanical design, thermal engineering, HVAC, or ventilation system design.
Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk, or similar mechanical drafting and design tools.
Ability to interpret construction drawings, engineering plans, and equipment specifications.
Experience developing mechanical equipment layouts and detailed engineering drawings.
Understanding of thermal management, airflow, ventilation, and HVAC system design.
Experience coordinating mechanical designs with structural and electrical engineering systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in data center infrastructure, AC/DC power modules, modular power distribution systems, IT/telecom infrastructure, or industrial facilities.
Experience with CFD analysis and thermal performance evaluation.
Knowledge of cable management systems, fire suppression layouts, and equipment integration.
Experience reviewing mechanical product submittals and technical documentation.
Familiarity with data center equipment, thermal technologies, and modular facility construction.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a Mechanical/Thermal Design Engineer with practical experience in HVAC and ventilation design, thermal management, AutoCAD, construction drawings, and mechanical equipment integration. Candidates with data center, power module, telecom infrastructure, or industrial HVAC design experience will be preferred.
