Full Job Description
The Role

As Sr. Manager, Professional Services Consulting (Dealer Variable & Fixed Operations), you will lead a team of customer-facing consultants focused on measuring, managing, and improving outcomes inside automotive dealerships. Your team will help dealers implement and maximize the value of Solera SaaS products and consulting programs by turning data into a clear operating rhythm - diagnose performance, take action, and solidify improvements month after month.

This role blends people leadership, operational execution, and KPI ownership, with a primary focus on managing consultants responsible for helping dealers drive Variable and Fixed Operationsperformance -including lead-to-appointment effectiveness, appointment-to-sale conversion, pipeline discipline, SaaS product adoption, inventory acquisition workflows, executive visibility into sales performance - including performance management frameworks for General Managers, General Sales Managers, Used Car Managers, New Car Managers, Group Operations Directors, c-suite executives, etc.; accountability systems that improve customer pay and warranty workflows, service lane effectiveness, technician productivity - including performance management frameworks for Service Advisors, BDC, and Parts teams, etc.

What You'll Do

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Consulting Team

Manage, coach, and develop a team of consultants to consistently deliver high-quality engagements that improve dealership sales performance and outcomes.

Set clear expectations, reinforce "One Team" behaviors, and model the professionalism and ethical conduct required for customer-facing leadership.

Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing enablement to build deep product expertise and strong consulting fundamentals across the team.

Measure and Manage Variable and Fixed Ops Outcomes
  • Establish a KPI-based execution cadence with each dealership that ties consulting activity to measurable improvements in variable and fixed operations performance.
  • Drive accountability systems that improve areas such as: lead handling performance, appointment performance, manager enforcement playbooks, etc. Lead the team in strengthening pipeline discipline, coaching opportunities, and cross-department handoffs tied to KPIs that influence sales conversion and profitability.
  • Lead the team in strengthening operational discipline across the service lifecycle-from appointment scheduling and write-up quality to repair order (RO) management, parts availability, and post-service customer follow-up-ensuring consistency and profitability at every stage.

Examples of outcome areas (Variable Ops): sales funnel response quality, lead response speed, appointment set/show rates, close-rate trends, pipeline management, sales/BDC accountability, marketing spend ROI, trade and purchase appraisal close rates, etc.

Examples of outcome areas (Fixed Ops): service appointment utilization, show rates, effective labor rate (ELR), hours per RO, technician efficiency and proficiency, service drive conversion rates, parts gross profit, inventory obsolescence, and customer retention/service revisit rates.

Operational Excellence and Delivery Quality

Own team planning and execution-ensuring the right coverage, prioritization, and consistency across consulting engagements (virtual and onsite as needed).

Build and refine playbooks, templates, and standard methodologies that help consultants deliver repeatable performance improvements while still tailoring to dealership needs.

Monitor and improve delivery quality through structured inspections (e.g., ride-alongs, call reviews, engagement retrospectives) and targeted coaching plans.

Data-Driven Leadership and KPI Ownership

Track and manage team KPIs and dealership performance outcomes; use trends to coach improvements and provide leadership updates.

Ensure consultants translate dealership and platform data into practical actions-such as CRM data integrity and user behavior audits, executive dashboards, custom KPI tracking, and trend analysis frameworks.

Drive consulting programs that influence sales and inventory economics, including inventory aging strategy, appraisal win-rate accountability, and trade acquisition workflows (as applicable to dealership objectives and Solera solutions).

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Influence

Partner closely with Sales, Account Management / Customer Success, Support, and Product teams to align priorities, share learnings from the field, and improve the customer journey.

Lead execution of departmental and company initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and clear communication across stakeholders.

What You'll Bring
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Industry Expertise: Strong automotive dealership experience highly preferred; ability to "speak the dealership language" and coach others to care about what our dealers care about.
  • Performance Consulting Leadership: Experience leading teams that drive adoption, ROI, and measurable outcomes through structured KPI management and execution cadence.
  • People Leadership: Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and develop high-performing teams through clear expectations and consistent accountability.
  • Communication + Presence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident presenting, training, and influencing across frontline to executive stakeholders.
  • Execution + Ownership: Strong personal accountability, operational rigor, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; comfort using data to tell a story and drive action.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 80% to support onsite delivery, key account outcomes, and team development in the field.
