Description

SAIC is seeking a Space Vehicle Factory Engineer to provide onsite systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services in support of an SAIC Prime Program at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Hawthorne, CA.

As the Space Vehicle Factory Engineer, you will support a Government customer with multiple satellite systems, both on-orbit and in development. You will support space vehicle engineering, assembly, integration, and test activities for all the SPOs major satellite programs. This opportunity requires familiarity with NRO or commercial organization, processes, and satellite systems.

Job Responsibilities to include:
  • Assist the Government in monitoring Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) of multiple satellites at contractor facility
  • Support the System Program Office (SPO) in a space vehicle engineering capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of systems acquisitions
  • Provide support to Government customers by evaluating space vehicle designs, overseeing space vehicle development efforts, and assessing space vehicle requirements compliance through verification activities
  • Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, briefs Government and industry as required
  • Support Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Developers by coordinating with other acquisition domain SMEs and program stakeholders to develop, modify, and maintain contract documentation
  • Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, accuracy, and sufficiency to meet program requirements and objectives
  • Participate in program reviews and technical interchange meetings between developers and COTR
  • Travel is required and may occur once a month

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience
  • Current and Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of space systems design, specification, development, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment
  • Experience with NRO and/or commercial satellite systems
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
  • Available to travel domestically up to 25%

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
