Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?This role is responsible for development and delivery of major change at RBC Direct Investing, a leading-edge digital investment business undergoing significant transformation. Operating within a sales-focused organization with national perspective, this role supports a multi-channel distribution strategy encompassing a professional mobile sales force distributed across the country, key retail locations, and digital channels. The successful candidate will take ownership of individual strategic initiatives and oversee all aspects of project oversight and delivery, from the early stages of inception through implementation, while keeping business strategy and key objectives top of mind. This role focuses on identifying, prioritizing, , designing and executing strategic projects that drive competitive advantage, and enable sales and business outcomes. Experience in leading diverse teams, an in-depth understanding of the business and its fundamentals and competitive landscape, as well as proven ability to effectively navigate high levels of technical and stakeholder complexity is a must.
Additionally, the role requires deep insight and expertise for one or several of the following critical domains: product, pricing, operations, data & analytics, digital product, customer experience, and change management. The role offers a structured leadership and personal development opportunity and has high exposure to senior and executive leadership levels of the business.
What will you do?- Identify strategic opportunities and business cases that will drive competitive positioning and business outcomes across all sales distribution channels
- Design and execute initiatives that enable and support sales effectiveness through the mobile sales force, retail locations, and digital channels
- Mobilize, design, lead and wind down individual strategic projects/pods that support multi-channel sales strategy
- Own targets and the key business outcomes of the assigned project(s)
- Proactively identify and manage all risks related to delivery and attainment of the intended business outcomes; maintain strong functional relationships with key stakeholders and groups
- In partnership with various domain leaders, lead the development and refinement of long-term execution plans and change initiatives that align with sales objectives
- Lead change initiation, stakeholder alignment, and adoption strategies to ensure successful implementation across sales teams and channels
- Develop and leverage insights that can identify and prioritize opportunities for changes improving competitive positioning, business outcomes, and operational efficiency across the organization
- Responsible for identifying business opportunities and prioritizing initiatives through analyses of business performance and market opportunity
- Maintain a detailed comprehension of the business strategy, sales distribution model, and competitive landscape
- Create a pro-active operational risk identification and control mitigation eco-system within the project teams by adhering to the business & enterprise risk framework processes
- Understand and benchmark RBC DI's relevant capabilities against those in the market and ensure we are building/maintaining a leadership position in the Canadian marketplace
- Conduct strategic analysis and produce required materials (i.e. business case) to aid in project development and approval
- Collaborate with business sponsor(s), functional partners, IT, QA and other teams to ensure acceptance test quality and delivery for any capabilities delivered
- Work closely with business leadership, mobile sales force management, and retail location leadership to ensure initiatives support sales channel requirements and effectiveness
- Responsible for ensuring that development and delivery of projects/initiatives are done with minimal or beneficial impact to the business, sales operations, and client experience
- Act as a business representative and subject matter expert for RBC Direct Investing to ensure RBC vision is followed
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the RBC Direct Investing business, sales distribution channels, and competitive environment in order to identify opportunities for additional products & services, and workflow improvements through technology or other means

Nice-to-have- Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct & Practices exam (CPh) and Options Course (OLC)
- Understanding of Project Life Cycle and change management methodologies
- Experience in marketing functions (digital marketing, targeted, collateral development etc) nice to have.
- Strong knowledge of investment products and services
- Strong knowledge of brokerage and investment applications
