Full Job Description
This position reports to:
QCS Operations Manager

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

The work model for the role is: Onsite in Westerville, OH (Columbus market) with up to 50% travel required. #LI-Onsite

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Provide technical sales support by developing hardware solutions, integration strategies, and system designs for ABB Quality Control System (QCS) opportunities and upgrades.
  • Lead project planning and execution activities, including installation and commissioning plans, hardware procurement, resource coordination, and schedule management.
  • Design, test, and implement QCS hardware solutions, including electrical documentation, system integration testing, and customer acceptance activities.
  • Serve as the technical lead during installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting, ensuring successful project delivery and operational excellence.
  • Build strong customer relationships by delivering training, providing expert technical guidance, and representing a unified ABB experience throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Paper Science is preferred; HS Diploma/GED with 5+ Years of Experience will also be considered (or equivalent years of experience and combined education; technical college in electronics would be a plus)
  • Experience in a field service setting is a significant plus; 1-3 years of Industrial Experience would be a plus
  • Strong leadership, and communication skills with a high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US permanently.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $68,600 and $109,760 annually.
