Product Planning Manager

Global NPU Business | Secure Connected Edge Processing

Are you a strategy‑driven problem solver with a passion for shaping long‑term business direction in fast‑moving technology markets? Join us as Product Planning Manager and play a critical role in defining and driving the long‑term strategy for NXP’s Global NPU business within the Secure Connected Edge Processing Business Line.

In this highly visible role, you will work closely with executive leadership, product management, engineering, finance, and sales to help define where we play, how we win, and how we allocate investment to maximize long‑term growth and competitive advantage.

What You’ll Do

As Product Planning Manager, you will lead strategic analysis, portfolio planning, and executive decision support for the NPU business. You will translate complex market, customer, and competitive signals into clear insights, structured recommendations, and actionable plans that guide portfolio strategy, roadmap priorities, and investment decisions.

You will operate at both the 30,000‑foot strategy level and the ground‑truth execution level, ensuring that long‑term strategy is tightly connected to product roadmaps, go‑to‑market plans, and financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning initiatives for the Global NPU business, including multi‑year growth strategy, portfolio prioritization, and investment frameworks

  • Conduct deep market, customer, and competitive analysis to identify strategic opportunities, risks, and white spaces

  • Partner closely with Product Management to influence roadmap direction, build business cases, and assess tradeoffs across performance, power, software enablement, and ecosystem strategy

  • Support annual and multi‑year planning processes (strategic plans, LTP, OP, portfolio reviews) with structured analysis and executive‑ready narratives

  • Develop clear, compelling materials for executive leadership, including strategy decks, decision memos, and scenario analyses

  • Drive cross‑functional alignment by working with engineering, marketing, finance, and sales to ensure strategy translates into execution

  • Evaluate inorganic growth, partnerships, and ecosystem opportunities in collaboration with corporate strategy and business development

  • Establish and track key strategic metrics and KPIs to assess progress and inform course corrections

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on strategic questions, tradeoffs, and prioritization decisions

What You Bring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, business, economics, marketing, or a related discipline required.

  • MBA and/or advanced technical degree strongly preferred.

  • Combination of technical education and business strategy experience highly valued

Experience/Knowledge

  • 8–12+ years of experience in strategic planning, strategy, management consulting, product strategy, or corporate development, ideally in technology‑driven industries

  • Management consulting experience (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or top‑tier boutiques) strongly preferred, with proven ability to structure ambiguous problems and influence senior executives

  • Strong understanding of technology markets; experience in AI, semiconductors, software, or systems businesses is a significant plus

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize market data, customer insights, and technical inputs into clear strategic recommendations

  • Proven ability to communicate complex ideas concisely to executive audiences through high‑quality written narratives and presentations

  • Strong cross‑functional leadership skills, with experience influencing without direct authority

  • Comfort operating in fast‑paced, high‑ambiguity environments with multiple stakeholders

  • High ownership mindset, intellectual curiosity, and bias for action

  • Experience working at the intersection of strategy and execution, not just strategy formulation

Nice to Have

  • Direct exposure to AI silicon, edge computing, or platform businesses

  • Experience supporting C‑level or GM‑level strategic reviews

  • Global business experience and exposure to multinational teams
