Who We're SeekingWe are seeking a highly skilled Media Network Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of high-performance IP network infrastructures tailored for live broadcasting and media production. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional enterprise networking and ultra-low-latency broadcast engineering. You will be instrumental in designing uncompressed audio/video transport systems, implementing synchronized PTP architectures, and maintaining mission-critical media delivery environments.
What You'll Do- Network Architecture & Engineering: Plan, design, and implement complex, highly available network architectures specifically optimized for broadcast and real-time media applications.
- IP Broadcast Integration: Drive the seamless integration and interoperability of SMPTE ST 2110 standards, PTP (IEEE 1588 / SMPTE ST 2059), and NMOS (IS-04/IS-05) across core and spine-leaf networks.
- High-Throughput & RDMA Optimization: Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced network features including Multicast (PIM-SM/SSM, IGMPv3), Quality of Service (QoS), and RDMA/RoCEv2 to support uncompressed 4K/8K media transport.
- Solutions Design & Tenders: Independently develop technical concepts, network designs, and BOMs (Bill of Materials) for customer tenders and large-scale infrastructure overhauls.
- Technical Consulting & Operations: Provide expert technical consultation to clients and internal production teams on media workflow reliance, network capacity planning, and resiliency models (e.g., SMPTE ST 2022-7 hitless redundancy).
- Troubleshooting & Analysis: Analyze and resolve complex packet-level issues (capturing and analyzing PTP jitter, packet drops, or Multicast stream interruptions) under tight deadlines.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, topology diagrams, IP/multicast address schemes, and project post-mortems.
What You'll Bring- Education & Experience: Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or equivalent. Several years of hands-on experience designing and deploying networks in live media/broadcasting environments.
- SMPTE & Standards Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of the SMPTE ST 2110 suite (2110-10/20/30/40), ST 2022-6/7, and PTP timing architectures (SMPTE ST 2059-1/2).
- Multicast & RDMA Mastery: Expertise in high-bandwidth Multicast routing (PIM, IGMP, SSM) and low-latency throughput mechanisms like RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCEv2).
- Media Network Platforms: Advanced expertise in Cisco IP Fabric for Media (IPFM) / DCNM/NDFC or Arista EOS (Media Control Service/MCS, MCS-PTP).
- Core Networking Protocols: Solid foundation in L2/L3 protocols, EVPN-VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, strict QoS policies, and telemetry tools.
- Media Workflow Understanding: Strong understanding of uncompressed audio/video production pipelines, SDI-to-IP conversions, timing alignment, and how live production workflows rely entirely on deterministic network performance.
- Organization & Delivery: High degree of self-responsibility, analytical problem-solving skills, and a strong collaborative mindset. Excellent communication skills for consulting with both technical engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Experience- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or Arista certifications (ACE).
- Experience with Arista media architectures alongside Cisco IPFM.
- Knowledge of NMOS control interfaces (AMWA IS-04, IS-05, IS-08) and broadcast control systems (e.g., Nevion VideoIPath, VSM).
Travel RequirementsEmployees are responsible for traveling to and from client sites as required by their project or assignment, regardless of location. Travel may include sites outside the employee's primary office location, state, or region.
Remote & Hybrid WorkWhile remote or hybrid work may be permitted for certain projects, client needs take precedence. Employees are expected to report onsite at the client location when required by the project scope, client request, or management directive.
