Global Transaction Banking

Purpose: Leads and manages U.S. Cash Management Operations, with accountability for the end-to-end delivery of operational processes, control framework effectiveness, and team performance. Ensures alignment with business strategy, regulatory expectations, and risk management standards.

What You'll Do:
  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Owns end-to-end daily, weekly and monthly operational processes supporting Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Corporate and Commercial Product, ensuring effective, efficient, and scalable service delivery.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations through Assistant Managers, ensuring consistent execution, quality, and SLA performance.
  • Accountable for operational risk management, including identification of issues, escalation, remediation, and sustainable resolution of control deficiencies.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, automation, and operating model enhancements.
  • Partners with Product, Technology, Sales, and other stakeholders to support business initiatives, new product implementations, and strategic changes.
  • Leads engagement with internal and external audit functions, regulatory bodies, and control partners; accountable for timely remediation of findings.
  • Defines, monitors, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to senior management.
  • Allocates resources and manages capacity planning to ensure appropriate coverage and scalability of operations.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing team by setting clear objectives, providing ongoing coaching and development, and driving performance management and succession planning.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team


What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience executing & leading effective operational support of Transaction Banking business, including but not limited to Payments/Deposits, FX Settlement and Liquidity Management.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Transaction Banking products with advanced technical acumen and solid risk management techniques preferred.
  • Demonstrates experience in people leadership and process ownership
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate with external clients and internal partners.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail, organizational, planning, time-management, problem solving & critical thinking skills.
  • Possess the ability to be a self-starter and team player.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Prior experience with Finacle, Duco, Power BI and other operational systems considered an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline considered an asset.
