Full Job Description
The Portland Sheraton at Sable Oaks, a Colwen Hotels property, is looking for a dynamic, passionate, and results-driven General Manager to lead our hotel and team to the next level.

This is an opportunity for a leader who believes the best way to lead is to be present, be engaged, and roll up your sleeves. You won't be managing from behind a desk. You'll be visible throughout the hotel, working alongside your team, connecting with guests, solving problems, and making sure every department has what it needs to succeed.

As General Manager, you'll have a direct impact on guest satisfaction, associate engagement, operational excellence, and financial performance. From Front Office and Housekeeping to Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Sales, you'll bring the entire operation together around one goal: delivering an outstanding hotel experience while building a high-performing, engaged team.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the entire hotel operation across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Sales.
  • Be a highly visible, hands-on leader who inspires the team and steps in wherever needed to ensure the hotel runs at its best.
  • Drive exceptional guest service, satisfaction, quality, and operational standards every day.
  • Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term business plans and budgets aligned with company goals.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to maximize revenue, profitability, and market performance.
  • Build a deep understanding of the local market, including demand generators, competitors, and opportunities to strengthen the hotel's community presence.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain talented hospitality professionals.
  • Create meaningful training and development opportunities that help associates grow their skills and careers.
  • Foster a professional, respectful, collaborative, and fun workplace where people feel valued and empowered to succeed.
  • Champion associate recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships across every department and lead with open, consistent communication.
  • Conduct daily property walks and inspections to ensure cleanliness, product quality, safety, and service standards are consistently achieved.
  • Partner closely with Finance to maintain strong financial discipline, internal controls, and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to all Sheraton and Colwen Hotels standards.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a leader who brings energy, accountability, hospitality, and heart to the role.

You'll be a strong fit if you have:
  • 3+ years of hotel management experience, preferably with lifestyle or comparable full-service brands.
  • Prior brand experience preferred.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A highly organized, detail-oriented approach.
  • A self-motivated, results-driven mindset.
  • The ability to think creatively, solve problems quickly, and confidently manage multiple priorities.
  • A leadership style that is visible, approachable, and focused on developing people.

We've Got You Covered: Benefits & Perks
  • Medical Insurance with Company-Funded HRA
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Wide Array of Supplemental Insurance Offerings
  • Paid Time Off Programs
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • 401(k) Plan - Traditional & Roth Options with Employer Match
  • Hotel Discount Travel Program for Associates & Family
  • Exclusive Associate Discounts - Travel, Entertainment & Retail
  • Training and Development Programs
  • Career Advancement Opportunities
