Maine Medical Center is a 637-bed teaching hospital located in Portland, Maine. It is the largest hospital in northern New England, and serves as the tertiary referral center for Maine, as well as parts of Vermont and New Hampshire. The hospital is a Level One Trauma Center, and is also home to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the Maine Medical Center Research Institute.
