Title:

Enterprise SATCOM Systems Subject Matter Expert – Training System Requirements Analysis

KBR is seeking an experienced Enterprise Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) Training System Requirements Analysis (TSRA) effort in El Segundo, California. 

KBR is the prime contractor on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract.  By applying to this position, you are in consideration for KBR employment. The MSEIT effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC). We acquire state of the art Military and Commercial SATCOM systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters.  We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

The SME will provide operational, maintenance, and mission execution expertise to support the development and validation of training requirements, task analyses, and training system recommendations for ESS operators and maintainers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expertise in MILSATCOM, space operations, and enterprise ground systems

• Support Operational Task Analysis (OTA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), and Functional Analysis activities

• Identify, document, and validate operator and maintainer training requirements

• Assess mission execution processes, operational procedures, and maintenance workflows

• Support development of Training System Requirements documentation and associated deliverables

• Validate technical accuracy of training products, instructional methods, and curriculum recommendations

• Coordinate with engineering, logistics, cybersecurity, operations, and sustainment stakeholders

• Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), working groups, technical interchange meetings, and customer briefings

• Provide recommendations for operator and maintainer certification, qualification, and continuation training requirements

• Support SSC customer engagements related to ESS training development and sustainment planning

Qualifications:

Required:

Active Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Space Operations, Information Systems, Military Science, or related discipline

• 10+ years of experience supporting DoD space, satellite communications, or ground segment systems

• Experience operating, maintaining, sustaining, or supporting MILSATCOM systems

• Demonstrated experience developing, executing, or supporting operational and maintenance procedures

• Experience participating in requirements analysis, systems engineering, training development, or acquisition programs

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to lead discussions with senior government and contractor personnel

Desired:

• Master's degree in a related discipline

• Prior experience supporting ESS, AEHF, WGS, MILSATCOM, or Space Force programs

• Experience supporting TSRA, Job Task Analysis (JTA), OTA, or Instructional Systems Design (ISD)

• Experience supporting logistics, sustainment, or product support planning activities

• Experience with Space Systems Command acquisition programs

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

• INCOSE, DAWIA/Back-to-Basics, or related professional certifications

Compensation:  $126,200 to $157,700 in El Segundo, CA

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
