Position Description & Qualifications

As the Earned Value Management (EVM) Analyst, you will be on a dynamic team, supporting Team Submarine providing business, financial, and programmatic support to one of our NAVSEA customers in the Washington, DC area. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible to perform data validity checks on monthly Earned Value Management (EVM) in-house and contractor reporting to assess reliability of EVM data to support overall project analysis and surveillance and identify issues and monitor for satisfactory resolution.
  • Assess and validate EVM data integrity monthly using best practices and tools
  • Support EVM as a program management resource
  • Understand EVM training gaps and providing solutions
  • Attending program meetings and evaluating EVM data.
  • Encourage standard processes and resources across programs.
  • Lead efforts for effective baseline reviews, program audits, internal surveillance to assist in the successful deployment of EVM resources.
  • Review and audit EVM deliverables on programs.
  • Set high personal standards for performance/conduct.
  • Demonstrates ability to be a team player; works well with others; contributes positively to work/team environment while continually seeks ways to enhance contribution to the team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An Active/Current DoD Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Management, Engineering, Communications, Business Administration or related field.
    • A High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional related/similar EVM experience, or an Associate's degree and 2 years of additional related/similar EVM experience, will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • 6 years of experience.
  • Ability to perform detailed and complex calculations with related knowledge of the practices and principles of Earned Value Management.
  • Experience managing EVM on a DOD program or similar/related experience.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time and some travel outside the DC area may be required.
  • Microsoft skills are essential, especially EXCEL and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently, and often under short, multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to be a team player and work well with others.
  • Experience in the following:
    • Budget Automation and Process Improvement
    • Cost Analysis
    • Data Management and Analysis
    • Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)


Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Superb organizational skills.
  • Be articulate in both oral and written communications.
  • 6 years of experience in management or business function roles.
  • Specific knowledge of O&M,N accounts.
  • Work experience in the Navy and specifically within Team Submarine or submarines in general.
  • Knowledge of DoD policies, NAVSEASYSCOM/Team Submarine policies and procedures.
