Full Job Description
The Role
AspenTech is seeking a Product Management Director to lead our Process Simulation software Aspen HYSYS, the industry's leading process simulation solution for the energy sector.

As a key leader within the Product Management organization, you will define and execute the product strategy for Aspen HYSYS while driving market growth, customer adoption and solution differentiation. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, you will lead a team of product managers and collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Services, R&D and Solution Consulting to ensure the continued success of AspenTech's Process Simulation portfolio.

Your Impact

Product Vision, Strategy, and Sharp Execution
  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the product, backed by financial assessment such as a business case
  • Responsible for Agile roadmap for the product lifecycle (ideation and formation through execution), specifying the positioning, pricing, differentiation, competitive strategy, and definable value and proof points
  • Aligns the product vision and strategy to overall Performance Engineering and AspenTech objectives
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, and customer requirements.


Customer Engagement and Customer Centricity
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, industry leaders, and strategic partners.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for AspenTech process simulation solutions internally and externally
  • Champion customer-centric product development, balancing market needs, innovation and business objectives.


Portfolio Ownership and Growth Focus
  • Drive business growth through increased customer adoption, expansion into new markets, and successful introduction of new capabilities.
  • Drive innovation initiatives that strengthen competitive differentiation and market leadership, with close collaboration with R&D and other teams such as AI, UX and other product portfolios
  • Support evaluation of potential technology acquisitions and strategic partnerships that can accelerate market growth and product differentiation.
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Services, Solution Consulting to drive growth
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and successful outcomes.


People Leadership
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Product Management team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and customer focus.
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, retaining talent as well as actively managing performance
  • Lead from the front and create a best-in-class Product team


What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Process Engineering or related discipline. MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in the petroleum, energy, or process industries.
  • Strong understanding of process simulation technologies and workflows.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across functions and organizational levels.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Product Management experience within industrial software, engineering software or process industries.
  • Experience leading or mentoring Product Management teams.
  • Knowledge of Agile product development methodologies.
  • Experience working with process simulation solutions such as Aspen HYSYS or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing product strategies, business cases, and growth plans for enterprise software products.

The salary range for this role is $196,800.00 - $246,000.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
