In this role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of Directors & Officers (D&O) and related financial lines business, work with a broad range of clients, and contribute to delivering exceptional client outcomes.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Toronto office, in line with our Smart Working policy.

Aon also offers you a generous incentive earning opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package.

What the day will look like

In this role, you will be a key member of Aon's Toronto-based Financial Services Group, focused on Directors & Officers (D&O) and related financial lines for private and public company clients. You will manage a substantial and diverse portfolio of business, delivering exceptional service, executing complex placements, and supporting initiatives that enhance how we serve clients.

You will:

  • Manage end-to-end broking for a portfolio of D&O and related financial lines accounts, including new business, renewals, and mid-term changes.
  • Structure, market, and negotiate insurance programmes with insurers to help achieve favourable terms, conditions, and pricing for clients.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Management and Sales teams on programme design, strategy, and client presentations.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality placement submissions, proposals, and client-facing documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters and market partners while staying informed on industry trends, market developments, and emerging risks.
  • Support the use of tools, analytics, and D&O-focused solutions that provide valuable insights to clients.
  • Contribute to team initiatives and support a culture of collaboration, responsiveness, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.

How this opportunity is different

This role places you within a specialist Financial Services Group that manages complex D&O and financial lines placements for clients across multiple regions. You will inherit an established portfolio of business and work directly with clients and insurance markets on sophisticated risks, providing exposure to a wide range of industries and corporate structures.

You will collaborate with experienced colleagues across the Financial Services Group while having the opportunity to take ownership of client outcomes and contribute to strategic broking initiatives. As part of Aon's national and global network of financial lines professionals, you will have access to industry-leading resources, analytics, and market relationships that support ongoing learning, professional development, and career growth.

  • Experience in commercial insurance broking, underwriting, or a related financial lines environment, with exposure to D&O and related coverages such as Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fiduciary Liability, or Crime.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with an interest in understanding complex risks and insurance solutions.
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and client service.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, insurers, and colleagues.
  • A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience preparing client-facing materials, supporting negotiations, or presenting recommendations would be considered an asset
