Position Overview

CRA's Risk, Investigations & Analytics Practice is an integrated global team that combines specialized investigative and forensic accounting capabilities with sophisticated data analytics and extensive subject-matter expertise to gather intelligence, efficiently respond to crises, and identify and mitigate risks for our clients through all stages of due diligence, investigations, disputes, and litigation.

We provide economic and financial advisory services to companies, legal counsel, and tribunals involved in matters relating to intellectual property disputes (such as patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, trademark and copyright infringement), International Trade Commission investigations, and commercial litigation (such as breach of contract, business interruption, tortious interference, and price discrimination).

As an Associate, you will work alongside your project team and have frequent contact with senior leadership, working primarily on intellectual property disputes and commercial litigation matters. Overall responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of expert reports (including report writing and financial modeling), and other tasks and analyses such as company, industry and market research. Day-to-day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Develop appropriate financial, accounting, and economic analyses and damages models to support case theories;
  • Review and summarize client documents, third party financial and industry data, expert reports, depositions, complaints and other legal documents to identify key information and discern relevant patterns;
  • Assist in writing of expert reports and deposition questions;
  • Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to develop an understanding of the relationships between the parties, the relevant market, and other topics;
  • Assist in the production and development of research summaries, expert reports, and the presentation of findings;
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of analyses;
  • Support senior experts to conduct analyses of various types of data (i.e., macro and micro economic, corporate financial and operational, market and industry).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related analytic discipline;
  • Up to 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting or financial/economic analysis (we are accepting applications from recent graduates and candidates in the workforce)
    • Recent graduates or individuals without directly relevant experience may be hired at the Analyst title;
  • Solid working knowledge of finance, accounting, and economic theories and methodologies;
  • Analytic skills, including intermediate or advanced excel experience;
  • Experience gathering, standardizing, and analyzing voluminous transactional electronic data;
  • Effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Curious and analytic thinkers who bring creative approaches to non-standard problems;
  • An ability to communicate with project managers to facilitate prioritized tasks and execute responsibilities under pressure.
