Full Job Description
Role Summary

Anthropologie is seeking a highly technical Sr. Analyst, Testing & Personalization to join our Analytics & Insights team. This role is deeply hands-on, focused on the rigorous statistical analysis of A/B tests and personalization placements. The ideal candidate is analytically sharp, fluent in experimentation tools and methodology, and able to translate technical results into insights that inform broader testing and personalization strategy.

This person will own the technical analysis of experiments and personalization placements, and will build out the processes, documentation, and reporting standards that guide how the team designs, measures, and reports on tests. While the core of the role is technical execution and analysis, this analyst will also contribute to testing and personalization strategy, using results and data patterns to help shape what we test next and how we prioritize personalization opportunities. This person will help build a culture of test-and-learn, fact-based decision making across the Anthropologie family of brands, leveraging URBN's extensive customer, campaign, product, site, and marketing channel data.

The Analytics & Insights team is part of the larger Marketing organization within Anthropologie, consisting of brand and digital marketing, consumer insights, and marketing planning.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct rigorous statistical analysis of A/B and multivariate tests. Apply sound statistical methodology (e.g., significance testing, sample size and duration calculations, segmentation analysis) to ensure test results are reliable and decision-ready
  • Build, document, and continuously improve the reporting templates and standards the team uses to measure and communicate test results, ensuring consistency and rigor across every experiment
  • Analyze the performance of personalization placements and targeting logic across site and app, identifying underperforming placements, audience segments, and optimization opportunities
  • Translate technical test results and data patterns into clear recommendations that inform testing and personalization strategy, including what to test next and how to prioritize the roadmap
  • Analyze browsing behavior and purchase patterns to understand customer mindset and identify friction points that inform test hypotheses and strategy for personalized experiences
  • Assist in QA of onsite tagging and testing implementations, leading communication to flag and resolve data discrepancies

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3-4 years analyzing data and translating insights into stories with actionable recommendations, preferably in a retail or ecommerce environment
  • A minimum of 2+ years designing and analyzing A/B or multivariate tests and personalization placements, with hands-on experience in testing/personalization platforms such as SiteSpect, Monetate, or Dynamic Yield
  • Strong, demonstrated command of statistical methodology, including significance testing, confidence intervals, and sample size/test duration calculations
  • A minimum of 2-3 years utilizing SQL to execute complex queries in a database environment. Experience working with relational databases and cloud-based data platforms, particularly Snowflake, to query, analyze, and interpret large datasets for actionable insights
  • Demonstrated experience building or improving analysis processes, documentation, or reporting standards for a testing or analytics function
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), including navigating the interface, building custom reports, and interpreting user behavior data
  • Proven experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Looker Studio, or Tableau
  • Possess strong analytical capabilities, logical thought processes, and great curiosity to uncover opportunities and solve problems
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
  • Collaborative personality with the ability to also work independently and drive projects with minimal oversight
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented organization
