Video Producer

We're looking for a Video Producer to join Relay's Marketing team and play a meaningful role in how our brand comes to life on screen. Video is a key creative format for Relay and we are excited to grow our video footprint. The person in this role will have the support of our full creative team, a creative producer, and cross collaborative partners across the org as well as the resources needed to truly differentiate the Relay brand through video. This is a full-spectrum role; you'll develop both existing and original concepts, lead production, and deliver edited, polished work that connects with small business owners in ways that feel real, useful, and distinctly Relay. You'll own the success of our YouTube channel, coordinating with colleagues on social media and content marketing to tell multi-dimensional stories that feed a content flywheel focused on educating, informing, and entertaining the Relay customer. The ideal candidate is comfortable pitching big ideas, self directing to bring those ideas to life, and tying channel success back to core business metrics. What You'll Be Doing • Develop video concepts rooted in Relay's brand, product, customer needs, cultural relevance, and YouTube best practices. • Own Relay's YouTube channel strategy: content pillars, publishing cadence, SEO/AEO, thumbnails, and performance optimization. • Lead end-to-end production across video formats- scripting, scheduling, shoot logistics, on-camera direction, and editing oversight. • Source and coordinate talent, freelancers, and production vendors, keeping shoots on time and on budget. • Analyze channel and video performance data and translate findings into smarter content decisions. • Partner with Brand, Growth, and Product Marketing to align video with campaigns, product launches, and key company moments. • Build and maintain production workflows and systems that make consistent, high-quality output sustainable. Who You Are • You have 4-5 years of experience in video production, with meaningful time owning work from concept through delivery. • Your portfolio shows range-different formats, tones, and audiences-and a clear creative point of view. • You are already experimenting with and implementing AI solutions to streamline your work and move faster and to fill in content gaps while producing more complex projects • You have hands-on YouTube expertise: you understand the platform's algorithm, content architecture, and optimization levers well enough to make intentional decisions, not just follow templates. • You're a skilled editor in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve; motion design or After Effects experience is a plus. • You're highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to manage multiple productions at once without dropping quality. • You naturally move with a sense of urgency and focus. Video is key to our growth and brand strategy going forward and we need a true owner for the channel who moves with speed. • You communicate clearly and proactively, flag challenges early, and move work forward without needing close oversight. • You have a genuine feel for cultural relevance-you know what's resonating, why, and how to connect it back to a brand. • You're comfortable collaborating across functions and presenting work-in-progress to stakeholders with clarity and confidence. Bonus Points • Experience creating content for SMB, fintech, or financial services audiences. • Experience editing video with a high standard for craft: pacing, sound, color, graphics, and captions all matter to you. • Comfort directing non-actor talent on camera-founders, executives, or customers. • Experience building short-form repurposing workflows (YouTube 12 Reels 12 Shorts 12 LinkedIn). • Familiarity with AI-assisted video tools for captions, scripting, or B-roll. • Motion design or animation skills. • Experience in SaaS, fintech, or a high-growth startup environment. The Interview Process • Stage 1: A 30-minute Google Meet video call with a member of the Talent team. • Stage 2: A 45-minute Google Meet video call with the Director of Brand. • Stage 3: A video-focused exercise or case study presented to members of the Marketing team and the Director of Brand • Stage 4: A 45-minute in-person interview with a member of the Leadership team. NOTE: All applications must include a link to your portfolio. Applications without portfolios will not be considered. Our Compensation Approach We believe Relayers should feel rewarded for the impact they have on our mission and growth. Compensation follows impact. As impact increases, compensation grows, and we do not limit compensation changes to a once-a-year review cycle. The annual salary range for this role is $108,000 CAD to $132,000 CAD. For candidates who demonstrate full readiness for the defined scope of the role, the typical starting salary is $120,000 CAD. Offers below this point reflect candidates we believe can grow into the full scope of the role with support and development. Offers above this point reflect impact that meaningfully exceeds the role's defined expectations or an expanded scope from day one. We encourage you to have a conversation with your recruiter and ask questions about compensation throughout the hiring process. Why Relay Might Be the Perfect Fit For You • You push relentlessly for reinvention: You're always asking "how can this be better?" -- in your work, in your craft, in yourself. Comfort is a signal to push harder, not coast. You'd rather build something better than defend something familiar. • You crave autonomy: We trust our team with big challenges and the freedom to solve them. If you're someone who takes initiative, is comfortable taking risks, and seeks input when needed, you'll find the freedom here empowering. • You own your work: You take pride in your work, follow through on commitments, and feel a deep sense of responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks. • You build with AI, not just use it: You're actively embedding AI into how you work, pushing what's possible, and bringing your team along with you. • You care about impact, not noise: You care deeply about the substance of your work. You measure success by results, not recognition, and you let your work speak for itself. • You're energized by complexity and ambiguity: You enjoy tackling problems that don't come with a playbook. You're comfortable building from scratch, iterating as you go, and collaborating to shape the best path forward. • You seek out feedback: You see directness as respect, not criticism. You actively seek input, sit with hard truths, and use feedback as fuel for improvement. • Small businesses are why we're here: Relay exists to help them thrive -- and that mission has to resonate with you.
