JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Vice President on the U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team, you will blend strategy, analytics, and hands-on execution to evaluate, launch, measure, and scale U.S. healthcare initiatives and innovations aimed at improving employee health outcomes and the healthcare experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and monitor metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of benefits offerings and initiatives; ensure consistent methodologies and enable objective comparison of financial and clinical outcomes across vendors and programs
  • Lead the annual healthcare cost projection cycle in partnership with actuarial consultants; build a comprehensive understanding of cost drivers and trends, design and model strategic scenarios, and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership
  • Operationalize approved rate changes by ensuring accurate configuration and loading across Finance systems (internal cost management) and Benefits administration systems (employee contributions) for annual enrollment
  • Research and evaluate ad hoc benefits offerings and program enhancements; quantify value, define success measures, and prepare materials for senior leadership review and approval
  • Analyze healthcare data sets, including medical claims, to generate insights on program and plan performance; partner with plan managers to develop strategies and recommendations, and prepare presentations summarizing findings and proposed actions
  • Manage cross-functional deliverables with internal and external stakeholders; interpret reporting and financials; support risk/compliance efforts and plan audits; and drive operational excellence
  • Collaborate with partners across benefits data and reporting, benefits delivery and customer service, wellness, finance, HR technology, IT security, legal, and sourcing

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 6+ years (or progressively responsible experience) in corporate benefits, benefits consulting, or health plan/health insurance field; experience in strategic, metric-driven roles, with a particular focus on self-insured actuarial and financial analysis
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare marketplace, along with a demonstrated track record of deep and thoughtful analysis of the healthcare marketplace, as it relates to large employer plans
  • Builder’s mindset that experiments, measures, learns, and iterates, bringing fresh, practical approaches to solve complex problems
  • Ability to effectively lead and collaborate across internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills and a high level of attention to detail

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Large firm experience (50,000+ employees)
  • Experience working in corporate benefits, with a particular focus on strategy and analytics, is strongly preferred
  • Progress toward or completion of actuarial exams, with an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation preferred
