Full Job Description
The Technical Workday Architect serves as a bridge between HR business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, owning end-to-end solution design across Workday Integrations. This role combines deep functional knowledge with hands on technical capability to design scalable, compliant, and efficient enterprise solutions.

Main areas of responsibilities:

Functional Configuration

o Lead integration solution design across Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Recruiting, Talent, and Payroll modules.

o Partner with HR teams to translate business requirements into scalable Workday integrations.

o Conduct impact assessments for releases, enhancements, and regulatory changes.

o Own governance frameworks for access, role rationalization, and audit readiness.

o Follow SDLC framework for enhancements and projects.

Integration Architecture & Delivery

o Design, develop, and support inbound/outbound integrations using:

o Workday Studio

o EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder)

o Core Connectors

o Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP APIs)

o BIRT reporting

o XML, XSLT transformations

o Lead integration lifecycle management: requirements 12 mapping 12 build 12 test 12 deploy 12 post-production support.

o Troubleshoot integration failures and optimize performance.

o Oversee vendor integrations (e.g., payroll providers, benefits vendors, ServiceNow, background check vendors).

o Implement secure authentication protocols (SFTP, OAuth, certificates, API security).

Program & Stakeholder Management

o Lead cross-functional workshops and discovery sessions.

o Translate BRDs into user stories and technical design documentation.

o Provide executive-level updates on roadmap, risk, and integration stability.

o Mentor junior analysts / integration developers.

o Drive release management strategy and regression testing coordination.

o Maintain detailed documentation related to project work, HR Systems internal documentation & frameworks, and process guides.

Requirements:

5+ years of Workday experience in HCM integrations (Studio, EIB, APIs) preferred

Experience supporting or leading full lifecycle Workday implementations or major tenant refreshes

Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments

Strong understanding of data governance and security best practices

Salary Range

NJ: $100,000-$145,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus Target
