Job Overview & Responsibilities

Systems Engineer 2 reporting directly to the Mission Integration Systems Engineering (MISE) Leader in the Atlas and Vulcan Programs organization.

ULA launches the most unique and complex spacecraft systems in the world for a variety of customers. The Mission Integration team is front and center working directly with ULA's customers to develop and integrate each mission's unique interface requirements.

As a Mission Integration Systems Engineer, this position will work alongside Mission Managers and expert responsible engineers to successfully apply ULA's systems engineering processes to each mission's SV to LV interfaces. This position will ensure consistent application of systems engineering tools and processes to support ULA recurring mission integration across all ULA customer bases. The position also has a key role in ensuring continuous improvement of these same tools and processes. This position is required to lead multidisciplinary teams to evaluate customer needs and to develop the necessary solutions to support 100% mission success. The candidate will lead Mission Integration Systems Engineering activities including:

  • Integration of mission interface requirements specifications.
  • Requirements development and authoring.
  • Leading requirements verification efforts.
  • Gate Review preparation and execution.
  • Management of risks, issues, and opportunity.
  • Team leadership and program execution planning.
  • Technical decision making.
  • Customer relationship and communication.
  • New and prospective mission interface compatibility assessments.
  • Technical issue resolution.


Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 2 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, applied mathematics, or similar from an accredited university.
  • Experience working with aerospace system requirements.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams in the performance of requirements analysis, development, integration, and/or verification.
  • Experience presenting material to large customer audiences.
  • Organization skills necessary to maintain focus and achieve consensus within diverse multi-disciplined teams across multiple projects.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and Power Point to include the integration of slides for large presentations to customers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, applied mathematics, or similar from an accredited university.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance OR eligibility and willingness to obtain required security clearance.
  • Experience working with existing and evolving launch systems or spacecraft system requirements.
  • Experience coordinating system level design reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
  • Experience developing, implementing, and tailoring systems engineering processes.
  • Experience with configuration control and/or systems engineering software tools (Siemens Teamcenter or similar).


Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denveronly): $81,695.00 - $136,159.00
