Job Overview & ResponsibilitiesThe position is part of the Ground Systems Engineering Team in the Recurring Chief Engineer's Office responsible for driving rigorous systems engineering in support of ground systems for ULA's Vulcan and Atlas Launch Vehicles. Level 2 Systems Engineers work under the guidance of senior engineers to apply technical knowledge and systems engineering processes across multidisciplinary teams. Ground systems engineers work across hardware and software interfaces to ensure all handling, integration, testing, and launch capabilities are available to the launch vehicle for any mission. Responsibilities of this role include:
- Supports ground systems scope with a primary focus on ground software and fluid systems.
- Support to mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and infrastructure ground systems as needed.
- Performs integration, ensuring that subsystems function together as an integrated system.
- Supports all systems engineering activities including requirements development and verification, failure mode analysis, test-like-you fly, risk/issue/opportunity management, trade studies, and gate reviews.
- Supports all phases of total system product: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, certification, operation, reuse, maintenance, and disposal.
- Responsible for applying appropriate scaling of systems engineering activities commensurate with the specific project needs.

Required Years of ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering and Integration principles.
- Proven experience using those principles successfully with cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing, integrating, and verifying requirements.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative and teamwork skills on previous technical projects.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications- Familiar with ground systems for launch vehicles and associated aerospace standards.
- Proficient in Requirements Management tools.
- Knowledge and use of Teamcenter or similar.
- Knowledge of Python and MATLAB.
- Exposure to digital engineering / MBSE principles.
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denveronly): $81,695.00 - $136,159.00
