Could you be the full-time Signalling Systems Engineering Group Manager in Toronto, ON we're looking for?

You'll lead a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results and reproducible performances. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, project management, HR), set clear goals, and implement strategies to meet quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments. You'll also focus on continuous improvement, skill development, and fostering a culture of innovation within your team.
You'll specifically take care of defining and implementing departmental guidelines, coaching team members to grow expertise in Railway Signalling Systems Engineering, and driving process improvements, but also ensuring effective communication and motivation across the team to achieve excellence.
We'll look to you for:- Defining and implementing department guidelines, including team profiles, growth plans, and evolving skills for competitiveness.
- Developing and maintaining domain competencies, coaching the team, and nurturing expertise in Railway Signalling Systems Engineering.
- Setting clear team goals, delegating tasks, and establishing deadlines.
- Providing support for project execution while promoting Alstom's values.
- Preparing and hosting management reviews to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Defining and governing the group's strategy in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Developing effective workshare golden rules for the team.
- Motivating, evaluating, and recognizing team members while fostering their professional development in cooperation with HR.
- Deploying global systems engineering processes, methods, and tools while providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Collecting lessons learned and innovation opportunities to enhance the reference library and sharing outcomes at the department level.
- Estimating and validating activity quotations for tenders and projects.
- Managing workload capacity in alignment with business strategies and reporting status and issues to department leadership.
- Committing to project and tender QCD objectives related to Signalling Systems Engineering.
- Be the Work Package Owner of the full Signalling and Telecom Engineering team

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific field (Master's degree desirable).
- Experience in engineering and processes, with a strong background in project execution and management.
- Hands-on experience in Signalling Systems Engineering.
- Comprehensive understanding of governance models and balanced scorecards in a technical environment.
- Experience in project estimating and workload capacity management.
- Proficiency in English (full professional use).
- P. Eng Certification (desirable).
- Experience working in multicultural and international environments.

CompensationThe expected compensation for this role is$130,000 - $150,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
