You will take hands-on ownership of Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server and virtual machines, network infrastructure, firewalls, and infrastructure automation, ensuring our systems are reliable, secure, scalable, and performing effectively. Working closely with IT Operations, Network, Security, and external partners, you will lead infrastructure upgrades and improvements, strengthen operational practices, and act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.

This is an existing full-time role, working 2 days remotely and 3 days on-site at 85 Richmond Street West, with a move to our new headquarters at 120 Bloor Street East in Fall 2026.

What's in it for you

Ownership and impact. You will take meaningful ownership of the infrastructure that supports a growing, multi-site organization, working across Azure, Microsoft 365, servers, virtualization, networking, and security. This is an opportunity to strengthen how core infrastructure is managed, introduce greater consistency and automation, and directly influence the reliability, performance, and security of the technology environment.

Technical breadth and modernization. You will work across cloud and on-premises technologies, giving you the opportunity to solve complex infrastructure challenges rather than being limited to one area. You will deepen your expertise across Azure, Microsoft 365, PowerShell automation, Windows Server, virtualization, firewalls, and networking while contributing to upgrades, migrations, infrastructure improvements, and emerging technology initiatives.

Growth and leadership. You will join an IT Operations team where you can expand both your technical influence and leadership capabilities. As the infrastructure environment and team practices continue to evolve, you will have opportunities to lead projects, mentor technical team members, strengthen operational practices, and take on broader ownership.

As our new System & Network Administration Lead, you will:
  • Manage cloud and Microsoft environments. You will manage, maintain, and optimize Azure infrastructure and Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, and OneDrive. You will apply industry best practices and security standards to strengthen performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Automate and improve. You will develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate Azure infrastructure management, deployments, configuration, and routine operational tasks. You will identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and strengthen infrastructure practices.
  • Maintain and modernize infrastructure. You will plan and execute Windows Server and virtual machine upgrades, migrations, patching, and ongoing maintenance across cloud and on-premises environments. You will monitor performance, proactively identify issues, and help ensure systems remain available, secure, and effective as needs evolve.
  • Strengthen network operations. You will configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade network infrastructure, including Azure and Fortinet firewalls, Aruba switches, VLANs, LAN/WAN environments, VPNs, and wireless systems. You will work closely with the IT Security team to apply hardening standards, address vulnerabilities, and ensure infrastructure deployments are appropriately secured.
  • Lead infrastructure projects and support. You will lead and coordinate infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments, and other technical initiatives, working across IT teams, business units, and external vendors. You will also provide hands-on L2/L3 operational support and act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Strengthen operational practices. You will apply ITIL practices across incident, problem, and change management and contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure operations. You will provide technical scoping and cost estimates to support capital and operating budget planning and help bring greater structure and consistency to how infrastructure is managed.
  • Provide technical leadership. You will share your expertise with technical team members, provide guidance on complex infrastructure challenges, and help strengthen capabilities across the team. You will build collaborative relationships across IT and the broader organization to ensure infrastructure services continue to meet operational needs.

You have:
  • The infrastructure experience. You have hands-on experience managing and supporting complex cloud and on-premises infrastructure, ideally within a multi-site environment. You are comfortable taking ownership of critical systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting infrastructure through upgrades, migrations, and ongoing operational improvements.
  • The Microsoft expertise. You have strong practical experience with Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including Windows Server, virtual machines, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. You can use PowerShell to automate infrastructure management, configuration, deployments, and recurring operational tasks.
  • The networking and security knowledge. You have experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, VLANs, LAN/WAN environments, VPNs, and wireless systems. Experience with Fortinet firewalls and Aruba switches is valuable. You understand cybersecurity best practices and can partner effectively with Security teams to strengthen infrastructure and address vulnerabilities.
  • The operational mindset. You understand ITIL practices and how they apply to incident, problem, and change management. You bring a proactive approach to monitoring infrastructure, identifying risks, resolving issues, and improving the reliability, performance, and consistency of IT operations.
  • The leadership and communication skills. You can lead technical initiatives, provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues, and act as a trusted escalation point when complex issues arise. You communicate technical information clearly and can build productive relationships with IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.
  • The certifications. Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE), and ITIL certifications are assets rather than requirements.
