Full Job Description
What you'll do:

This Switching Device PLM role reports to the Director of Marketing and supports Eaton's power distribution businesses. This role will plan, manage, and oversee the formulation of all short-term and long-term strategic objectives and business plans to produce the Switching Devices product line with over $300M in total revenue. You will maintain key organizational relationships with multiple manufacturing facilities in Cleveland, TN and Juarez, Mexico and manage multiple metrics including sales volume targets, market penetration, price realization and profitability.

In this role you will:

  • Provide expertise on product engineering technologies, new product designs, competitor capabilities and practices, market conditions, and market channels to develop long-term product design, manufacturing applications, and marketing and sales strategies.
  • Direct and oversee new product development, introduction into the market, product engineering alignment to support the manufacturing processes to meet customer specifications and needs.
  • Define, implement, and manage product marketing and strategic sales plans to ensure alignment with stated company product sales and service objectives.
  • Develop and coordinate communications channels with customers that will ensure the exchange of information relating to product characteristics, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Establish and maintain acceptable customer service standards with respect to negotiation lead times, product lead times, drawing turnaround time and potential claims.
    Analyze and interpret customer questions, requirements, or problems.
  • Manage and oversee the preparation of effective quotations, bids, and related negotiation documentation for sales.
  • Analyze competitive pricing levels and adjust proposals to respond effectively to changes in price, service, etc.
  • Negotiate final product prices with customer through field sales personnel.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure timely responses to customer installation and operational requirements
  • Plan and manage the R&D process for the product line to achieve program results along with team leadership to stay within the allocated budgets


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing required from an accredited institution
  • Extensive product and application knowledge in Power Distribution (with a preference for Electrical Distribution Products and Assemblies)
  • Successful track record of coordinating business processes and planning related to R&D
  • History of developing strong partnerships across multiple businesses, collaborating with professionals at varying levels (including C-suite), to develop business and go-to-market strategies
  • 5+ years team leadership in business development related to power distribution industry
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing and/or outside sales; including experience with channel networks (distributors and/or outside sales reps)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future


The expected annual salary range for this role is $165,000 - $242,000. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
