Job Overview

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Cincinnati (UC) is searching for a full-time academic Surgical Pathologist to participate in surgical pathology subspecialty services that align with the candidate's interests. Experience and/or subspecialty training in cytopathology or molecular pathology is desired, but not required. In addition to clinical service and resident/fellow teaching, the position offers excellent opportunities for participation in collaborative research. The successful candidate will join a highly collegial faculty group. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience. Essential Functions

  • Participation in surgical pathology case review and interpretation, with preparation of diagnostic pathology reports.
  • Provision of consultations to other types of physicians regarding diagnoses and medical implications.
  • Participation in on-call coverage.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary conferences aligned with clinical service responsibilities.
  • Teaches pathology residents, medical students, and fellows.
  • Attends sectional/divisional/departmental meetings and educational events.
  • Performs related duties based on departmental need.


Minimum Requirements

Must have all the following prior to effective date of appointment:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO).
  • Completion of four-year residency/training in Pathology.
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio State Medical License.


Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Board-certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology.
