The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Cincinnati (UC) is searching for a full-time
academic Surgical Pathologist to participate in surgical pathology subspecialty services that align with the candidate's interests. Experience and/or subspecialty training in cytopathology or molecular pathology is desired, but not required. In addition to clinical service and resident/fellow teaching, the position offers excellent opportunities for participation in collaborative research. The successful candidate will join a highly collegial faculty group. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience. Essential Functions- Participation in surgical pathology case review and interpretation, with preparation of diagnostic pathology reports.
- Provision of consultations to other types of physicians regarding diagnoses and medical implications.
- Participation in on-call coverage.
- Participation in multidisciplinary conferences aligned with clinical service responsibilities.
- Teaches pathology residents, medical students, and fellows.
- Attends sectional/divisional/departmental meetings and educational events.
- Performs related duties based on departmental need.
Minimum RequirementsMust have all the following prior to effective date of appointment:
- Medical degree (MD or DO).
- Completion of four-year residency/training in Pathology.
- Active and unrestricted Ohio State Medical License.
Additional Qualifications Considered- Board-certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
