Full Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Underwriting Specialist to join our TMS Excess Casualty team in any of our PHLY office locations! Summary: Under broad management direction, independently works at the highest authority limits on assignments reflecting the highest degree of technical complexity and coordination. Underwrites and markets assigned products by delivering highest levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability. Often one-of-a-kind subject matter expert potentially with national responsibility; not part of the normal career path. A typical day will include the following: • Mentors, trains and/or supervises less experienced underwriters. • Conducts analysis and applies appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of risk acceptability. • Delivers technical guidance as an expert resource providing assistance and training to junior level employees. • Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions. • Prepares and participates in marketing activities for business development and relationship building. Qualifications: • Bachelors degree • Minimum of 15 years of related industry experience or Excess Casualty coverage (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of requirements) National salary range: $138,400 - 154,700 Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. #LI-NM1 Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefit package, which includes tuition reimbursement and a generous 401K match.
