The DMPK department at Genentech is seeking a Ph.D. level Senior Scientist who is highly motivated to apply cutting edge translational modeling approaches to support the advancement of small molecule drug discovery and development projects. Physiologically-based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling will be a key focus of this position. Key technical responsibilities are to strategize, plan, execute, and report PBPK modeling and simulations independently, as well as to present work at cross-functional teams, department meetings, senior management review committees, regulatory interactions, and scientific conferences. Other responsibilities may also include representing DMPK at multi-functional discovery and development project teams and leading the DMPK strategy, including designing, executing and reporting non-clinical studies.
Who You Are
You hold a PhD in Pharmacokinetics, Drug Metabolism, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field, paired with 2 years relevant industry or post-doctoral experience in drug discovery/development.
You bring expertise in PBPK modeling and quantitative pharmacology, with hands-on experience using platforms such as Simcyp, GastroPlus, or PK-Sim.
Preferred
Experience with additional modeling and simulation tools, such as Phoenix, R, NONMEM, SimBiology, Python.
Prior pharmaceutical industry experience as a DMPK project leader.
Experience supporting diverse modalities (small/large molecules, peptides, etc.) in drug development or modeling.
This position does offer domestic relocation.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of San Francisco, CA is 124,300.00 - 230,900.00 USD. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
