What is the Opportunity?

ONxpress Transportation Partners (ONxpress) were chosen by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) to enter the Development Phase of the On-Corridor Works project - the largest project in Metrolinx's GO Expansion.

Unprecedented in its scale and complexity, this multi-billion-dollar capital program will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

As part of the ONxpress project, Aecon is looking for a qualified Senior Risk Specialist to join our team.

What You'll Do Here:
  • Lead and facilitate risk assessments, workshops, and governance meetings.
  • Own and maintain the risk register, ensuring risks are identified, quantified, and mitigated.
  • Oversee and validate inputs for risk modeling and forecasting.
  • Perform and lead schedule risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Integrate quantitative and qualitative risk analysis into project forecasts.
  • Lead RM3 activities, including audit preparation and coordination.
  • Act as key contact for audits, inspections, and contracting authorities.
  • Drive collaboration across risk, compliance, commercial, and project teams.
  • Mentor junior team members and support development of risk capabilities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing risk practices, systems, and reporting.


  • Ensure compliance with risk, regulatory, and safety standards.

  • Deliver executive-level reporting and insights to support decision-making.

  • Develop risk reports highlighting progress, top risks and QRA results.

  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.


What You Bring to The Team:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Analytics, or related field.
  • Certifications (CAP, CRM, PMP) considered an asset.
  • 5-8 years of risk management experience in large, complex infrastructure or capital projects
  • Expertise in:
    • Monte Carlo simulation & schedule risk analysis
    • Quantitative risk modeling & contingency development
    • AACE recommended practices
  • Strong experience in large-scale projects (brownfield/greenfield).
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Office.
  • Solid understanding of risk, compliance, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
  • Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.


Reason for vacancy: Replacement

Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
