Full Job Description
The Quality Engineer role at East Granby, CRO is responsible for planning and executing actives related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards and activities for customer processes, materials, and products to assure that customer expectations are met or exceeded while maintaining while optimizing cost and operational performance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assists in formulating and maintaining quality assurance plans and objectives.
  • Formulates and coordinates product quality standards and objectives with production procedures to obtain the most economically optimal product quality and reliability.
  • Investigates and responds to customer complaints regarding product quality.
  • Reviews RFQs, identifying special quality considerations.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations about customer documents, including purchase orders, drawings, and specifications, to determine requirements to prevent manufacturing defects.
  • Reviews work orders to ensure that blueprint characteristics are controlled and inspection methods are proper.
  • Reviews and approves special processes.
  • Represents the Quality Assurance Department in the evaluation and review of designs, engineering, and manufacturing planning. May recommend revisions.
  • Makes analytical, experimental, and theoretical determinations of applications of quality, engineering, and technical principles.
  • Creates statistical quality systems, such as SPC and trend analysis, to control and/or improve processes.
  • Reviews and approves nonconformances for cause, corrective action, and disposition.
  • Performs analyses of causes of nonconformances and recommends actions for reduction of such causes.
  • Performs quality audits of processes, products, and workstations within the company, and quality audits of suppliers and potential suppliers. Assists in the maintenance of the Approved Supplier List.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and responds to customer audits, including providing cause and short- and long-term corrective actions. Implements corrective actions to achieve successful quality standards.
  • Learns and adheres to required safety standards and practices.
  • Learns and applies quality system procedures.
