Role Description:Join Arcadis as a Senior Mechanical Engineer supporting federal facility projects. In this role, you will act as a Federal Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading mechanical design across multiple concurrent projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and federal clients to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. The role includes approximately 20% travel for site visits and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead mechanical design teams and mentor junior staff to produce construction-ready design packages
- Design facilities across industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors
- Have design skill sets in HVAC and Plumbing
- Support projects with USACE and NAVFAC
- Lead project lifecycle activities including budgets, proposals, schedules, staffing, and resource allocation
- Engage in business development and client relationship building within government sectors
- Ensure compliance with federal and industry standards (UFC, UFGS, NFPA, NEC, NESC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UBC, IEC, CE, EN, ASHRAE)
- Travel as required (~20%)
Required Qualifications:- U.S. Citizenship (required for federal project work)
- Minimum 12 years of consulting engineering experience with strong federal project exposure
- Proven experience delivering IFC design packages
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license in the U.S. (multi-state preferred)
- Strong communication skills (presentation, written, and verbal)

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
