Responsibilities

  • Act as the main onsite contact for clients, managing relationships, communications, and expectations during projects.
  • Oversee multiple low-voltage infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant deliveries.
  • Execute hands-on installation and testing of Cat6A and fiber optic cabling according to applicable standards.
  • Conduct thorough site surveys and prepare project estimates and bids based on blueprints and details.
  • Install and configure network infrastructure, including wireless access points and end-user equipment.
  • Monitor project status and provide updates, documenting any issues for resolution.
  • Troubleshoot cabling and network issues, ensuring project success through quality assurance.

Full Job Description
The Sr. Networking Engineer will be a hands-on leader to drive onsite technology deployments for our Corporate Campus clients. You'll be the face of our team with customers, ensuring every project runs smoothly from cabling to go-live.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for clients, managing customer relationships, project communications, and stakeholder expectations throughout installations, upgrades, and office relocations.
  • Lead multiple concurrent low-voltage infrastructure projects by coordinating schedules, site readiness, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Perform hands-on installation, termination, testing, and certification of Cat6A and fiber optic cabling, while maintaining compliance with TIA/EIA standards, safety requirements, and local building codes.
  • Conduct site surveys, review blueprints and construction documents, perform material and labor takeoffs, and develop project estimates and bids.
  • Install, configure, and support network infrastructure including wireless access points, IP cameras, network switches, structured cabling, and end-user workstation equipment.
  • Monitor project progress, document issues and resolutions, manage punch lists, and provide regular status reporting, risk assessments, and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot network and cabling issues, support equipment cutovers and commissioning activities, and ensure successful project completion through quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with structured cabling, network hardware installations, and low-voltage infrastructure projects in commercial, campus, or data center environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships, serve as an onsite client representative, and professionally resolve or de-escalate project issues.
  • Working knowledge of BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA standards, and fundamental IP networking concepts.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., work on ladders and in active construction environments, and terminate/test color-coded copper and fiber cabling.
  • Available to travel daily to client sites throughout the Minneapolis metro area and participate in occasional weekend cutover and deployment activities.
  • Experience reading construction documents, performing site assessments, and supporting network infrastructure installations and upgrades.
  • Minnesota Power Limited Technician License preferred; BICSI Technician, CompTIA Network+, Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Axis, or related industry certifications are highly desirable.

Wage Range:
The annual starting salary for this position is between $75,000 - $100,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
