The Opportunity Adobe Intelligence Platform is the foundational AI infrastructure that powers agentic experiences across the Adobe product portfolio. The platform enables interoperability of agents, capabilities, and workflows across the Adobe Creative Cloud, Experience Cloud, Document Clouds, and future product lines. It is transforming Adobe from a suite of best-in-class tools into a unified, AI-native ecosystem.
This platform encompasses agentic orchestration, model gateway infrastructure, knowledge graph services, memory systems, AI registries, skill and capability catalogs, and the planning and reasoning layers that enable autonomous and semi-autonomous workflows at enterprise scale.
We are seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to own the engineering vision and execution of building the Adobe Intelligence Platform. This is a pivotal role to invent, embed, and scale the latest in AI innovation into Adobe's products. This role is highly visible and key to executing Adobe's vision to transform the way creators and their teams work and create.
What you will do- Define and drive a holistic and full stack engineering strategy for the Adobe Intelligence Platform.
- Integrate platform components into web, desktop, and mobile surfaces, partnering with global teams to accelerate their timelines and unify the customer experience.
- Grow the organization, including hiring world-class talent, structuring teams, and developing the next generation of AI leaders within Adobe.
- Model and drive a new way of working, using the latest AI tooling to plan, review, and ship software.
- Own the technology strategy, pairing with senior architects, to define the roadmaps for agentic orchestration, model gateway infrastructure, knowledge graph services, memory systems, AI registries, agentic harnesses, and skill catalogs.
- Set and run the operating rhythm with program and product partners: planning, prioritization, cross-team dependencies, and how the org measures its own progress.
- Partner with Research and Design to shape the future of applied AI by shortening the loop from cutting edge to production.
- Partner with Engineering, Program and Product leaders across the organization to understand their local needs and drive adoption of the AIP platform across Adobe.
- Align with Security, Privacy and Legal colleagues to ensure the platform has observability, security, and enterprise governance controls around safety and trust built into the end-to-end architecture.
- Define the adoption strategy and own the outcome for partnerships internally: ensure Adobe Intelligence Platform is serving the needs of application teams at all levels and across Adobe's 3 cloud offering areas.
What You'll Need to Succeed - 12+ years of engineering experience, including significant time leading engineering organizations through ambiguity and change.
- Direct experience with platform or infrastructure work: building the layer other engineering teams depend on.
- Working fluency in AI/ML systems: evals, context management, model gateways, and adjacent areas.
- Technical depth with agentic frameworks and the operational patterns to manage them at scale.
- A track record of building or substantially reshaping an engineering org, including hiring, structuring teams, and developing leaders under them.
- Comfortable influencing progress with a platform in a shifting technical landscape.
- Strong cross-functional influence, with the ability to drive adoption of a platform across global teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and express a compelling vision.
