What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll will do business analysis for complex projects to design strategic solutions aligned to CIBC’s enterprise architecture roadmap. As a Sr. Business Systems Consultant within Wealth Management – CIBC Asset Management Technology , you’ll support collaborative end-to-end project implementation and act as a subject matter expert in both business and technology by following the values, principles and practices of Agile/Scrum delivery. You’ll participate in ideation and collaborate with a diverse team to create and build flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best in class client experience.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Understanding Requirements - Work closely with business partners/vendors to guide formulation of complex business requirements and solution design discussions and testing to meet project needs using waterfall methodology and through daily scrums, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement. Actively participate in key Agile/Scrum rituals.

  • Telling a story from business data – You have a passion for understanding the story behind the numbers. You possess exceptional business partnering skills and the ability to communicate business insights easily and effectively. Participate as a thought partner and provide advice and recommendations that assist in the development and evolution of our business mandate and help our business make better decisions faster

  • Solution Design- Prepare and validate Scope Clarification Documents including, but not limited to, Solution Requirement Artifacts and Quality Assurance Artifacts to ensure business partner needs are met and Support end-to-end project  implementation and act as a subject matter expert in business and technology. Drive to collaborate and support individuals and cross-functional teams to resolve organizational, operational and process problems within an agile environment. 

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience with:  Minimum 5+  years working as a Sr. Business Systems Consultant, preferably within the Financial Services industry (ideally Wealth Management, Mutual Funds, Securities) with an emphasis on stakeholder relationship management. Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, and proficiency in Jira, Excel, SQL, Power BI, and presentations. Proven experience in the Mutual Fund industry, particularly in fund manufacturing processes, manufacturer book of record responsibilities, Fundserv standards, and products such as Asset Allocation Models and Feeder Funds. Required to lead project estimate, data analysis, bi-monthly release review and testing, annual tax reporting validation, regulatory audits (CIRO, SOX, CDIC), and various data governance, and control activities. This role will also support business executives and teams on Power BI dashboarding and reports creation. This role is important to build up IFAST application & data domain knowledge to support strategic, regulatory, and compliance initiatives.​You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or related field.
