Specialty Gas Sales Manager Salary Range $130,000 to $150,000

Can reside in either the Houston, TX or Dallas, TX Area

JOB SUMMARY
Representing a core business unit for Matheson the SGSM is responsible for increasing Matheson's specialty gas and equipment sales and market share within a multi-state geography by managing Specialty Gas Specialties (SGS) activities through the sales process.

Essential Function
The SGSM will increase sales and market share through a sales team of SGS located throughout the assigned geography. Translating the team's business goals and objectives into individual actionable plans for each SGS; the SGSM will oversee all phases of the sales process through the utilization of the Matheson Sales Model (MSM), Matheson Selling Skills (MSS), sales reporting and direct customer interaction. Working independently and through the SGS team the SGSM will drive Matheson's specialty gas sales growth.
The following is a list of additional responsibilities:
• Achieve sales budgets and increase market share through direct and indirect sales activities.
• Ensure that SGS adhere to the Matheson Sales Model (MSM) and Matheson Selling Skills (MSS)
• Ensure that SGS maintain customer profiles, manage pricing & perform other required administrative duties.
• Develop sales leads into profitable accounts by working closely with SGS and key accounts within a multi-state geography.
• Serve as a conduit for information between senior management, sales teams, clients, operations and quality assurance departments.
• Develop and share "Best Practices" enhancing our ability to promote and sell specialty gases and equipment.
• Monitor internal and external quality assurance programs and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) directly impacting our customers business.
• Establish high standards and expectations for customer service through all facets of Matheson's customer service and operations groups.
• Provide continuous improvement in all areas including sales volume growth, improvement of account profitability and contract term.
• Prepare and timely submit complete and accurate business reports in accordance with the then current Matheson policy.

Education
Associate's Degree Associates degree in a science, chemical or technical curriculum Preferred
Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science Degree in life sciences or chemistry ideally supported by an MBA or commercial experience within the strategic market.

Work Experience
4-6 years' Experience in sales or marketing within the life science, bioscience, pharmaceutical, chemical, semiconductor or similar technical sales position selling hazardous materials, chemicals, equipment, process control devices or process analyzers. A working knowledge or experience from selling specialty, medical and industrial gases is preferred. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Specialty gas, specialty gas equipment, bulk, medical and industrial cylinder industry
• Manufacturing of specialty gases including pure gases, gas blends, hydrocarbon blends and reactive gas blends, industrial cylinder gases and bulk atmospheric gases.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
• Working knowledge of ISO, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing practices

Travel Requirements
Estimated Amount Brief Description
40-50% Travel would be within a defined sales region with periodic business meetings and training.
