Title and Summary
Senior Technical Program Manager
The Ethoca Cloud Platform team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive strategic cloud platform, infrastructure, and engineering initiatives.
This newly created role will serve as a key execution partner to Engineering leadership, owning programme governance, roadmap planning, capacity management, stakeholder alignment, and delivery execution across multiple cross-functional initiatives. The successful candidate will enable engineering teams to focus on delivery while providing operational excellence, programme discipline, and leadership across a growing cloud platform organisation.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical program management experience with a solid understanding of Azure and cloud technologies and has a proven ability to lead complex initiatives across Engineering, Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and Operations teams.
Role:
• Own end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional technical programs across cloud, infrastructure, platform, security, and engineering domains.
• Translate business objectives, technology strategy, and operational priorities into executable roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
• Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Architects, and stakeholders to align priorities, scope, timelines, and delivery commitments.
• Drive roadmap planning, prioritization, and capacity management activities in partnership with Engineering leadership.
• Balance infrastructure, platform, technical strategy, and product-driven initiatives to maximize delivery outcomes.
• Manage program milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, resource constraints, and delivery trade-offs.
• Own Jira governance, including backlog management, workflow administration, reporting, dashboards, roadmap tracking, release planning, and delivery metrics.
• Build executive reporting that provides clear visibility into programme health, risks, dependencies, and key outcomes.
• Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions, technical reviews, governance forums, and release readiness activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Cloud Operations, and Product teams to ensure alignment across dependent initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement in programme management practices, delivery processes, and governance frameworks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for major programs and strategic initiatives within the organization.
All About You:
• Experience leading complex technical programs within software engineering, cloud, platform, infrastructure, or technology organizations.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, cloud-native architectures, and modern infrastructure platforms.
• Ability to understand technical designs, architecture diagrams, APIs, infrastructure components, and platform services.
• Experience driving roadmap execution, capacity planning, programme governance, and stakeholder management in enterprise environments.
• Experience managing complex dependencies, risks, issues, priorities, and stakeholder expectations across multiple teams.
• Deep expertise with Jira, including programme governance, workflow administration, dashboards, reporting, dependency tracking, and release management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level reporting.
• Proven ability to influence without direct authority and drive alignment across highly matrixed organizations.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, planning, and execution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining focus on business outcomes.
Preferred experience:
• Experience supporting Azure-based cloud platforms, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, and cloud operations practices.
• Experience managing security, compliance, resiliency, or operational readiness initiatives.
• Experience with Aha!, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar portfolio management platforms.
• PMP, SAFe, Agile, Scrum, Azure, AWS, or related certifications.
In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Pay Ranges
Toronto, Canada: $94,000 - $138,000 CAD
