Overview

As a Senior Supply Chain Strategist, you will develop and execute global supply positioning strategies across the product lifecycle, ensuring inventory is placed to meet working capital, cost, and service objectives. You will partner closely with Product Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to establish and manage the supply plan of record. In this dynamic role, you will help strengthen supply chain performance by improving predictability, reliability, and cost efficiency across the end-to-end supply network.

The ideal candidate will bring solid analytical skills, deep supply chain expertise, and a proven ability to improve business performance by driving cross-functional alignment and influencing effectively in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities
  • Own the supply commitment, or plan of record, to ensure the right product or SKU is available in the right geo, segment, and channel at the right time, cost, and lifecycle stage.
  • Own end-to-end inventory across the forward and reverse supply chain, ensuring visibility and action plans are in place to support Microsoft inventory investment decisions.
  • Develop and execute supply fulfillment strategies to deliver the approved Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) while balancing cost, service, and P&L objectives.
  • Partner with Finance to monitor product P&L performance and identify the right levers to improve profitability.
  • Manage component and finished goods liability, provide final inputs to Finance for Excess and Obsolete (E&O) reserves, and drive depletion actions.
  • Drive policy decisions and execution plans that support line-of-business goals in a scalable, standardized, and low-touch manner.
  • Manage and monitor line-of-business metrics at the global and regional levels, identifying opportunities and risks and driving corrective actions.
  • Establish the structure, rhythms, and processes needed to manage operational activities and critical dependencies required to meet supply commitments and achieve business targets.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in data science/analytics, engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain, operations, or project management with a supply chain or operations field.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience, preferably in high-tech manufacturing, consumer electronics, or supply chain.
  • Broad supply chain experience across areas such as new product introduction, supply planning, demand management and forecasting, and channel operations.
  • Ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and operate with a hands-on mindset.
  • Advanced conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional projects and delivering challenging organizational objectives.
  • Ability to partner with senior stakeholders to design and implement programs and solutions.
  • Knowledge of business systems and information technology used to manage supply chain operations.
  • Sound business judgment, solid communication skills, and the ability to resolve conflict diplomatically.

Integrated Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
