Summary

Join Guidewire as a Senior Software Engineer, Application Platform, and be part of the team building our next-generation platform. This platform provides the essential tools, services, and infrastructure that power modern insurance applications. You will be a key contributor on this platform, using AI coding tools to design and build core services that power developer experience, ensuring quality, scalability, and security. This is a senior, onsite, full-time role based in the United States.

You will play an important role in delivering operational excellence and transformative innovation for Guidewire's Product Development & Operations (PDO) organization. Our priorities include accelerating cloud and data platform adoption, and ensuring our solutions deliver measurable value and efficiency for customers. Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Guidewire's application platform, primarily focusing on backend services but with flexibility to occasionally work with infrastructure and frontend.
  • Apply agentic coding tools and support Guidewire's effort to dramatically accelerate development.
  • Engineer for quality, scalability, availability, and security in every aspect of the platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations, supporting Guidewire's mission of operational excellence and transformative innovation.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.


Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering, with a solid track record in system design and building platform services.
  • Experience with coding agents and automation tools.
  • Strong proficiency in one of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, with ability to adjust to other languages.
  • Experience building APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 - $271,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
