Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Programmer/Developer with 8-10+ years of Java development experience to support a leading telecommunications client. The successful candidate will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support within an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities - Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including product research, software architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements in collaboration with Software Development Managers, Project Managers, and other developers.
- Design and implement application components based on software requirements and technical specifications.
- Contribute to system testing activities, including unit, functional, performance, and installation testing.
- Work effectively in a self-directed Agile environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Analyze complex technical and business problems and identify practical solutions.
- Document code, processes, and development practices using Javadoc and technical documentation.
- Estimate, track, and monitor time spent on assigned development activities.
- Interpret and apply relevant industry standards and best practices.
- Monitor and mentor offshore developers by providing day-to-day technical and functional guidance.
- Ensure timely delivery of assigned development tasks and support offshore team members in resolving technical and business issues.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure coding standards, quality, and best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with client managers to coordinate code integration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Support code promotion and deployment to the master branch and production environments as required.
Required Skills and Experience - 8-10+ years of hands-on Java development experience (10+ preferred).
- Strong expertise in Java, JEE, JSF, JMS, SOAP, and REST Web Services.
- Solid experience with HTML, XML, XSLT, and JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database design, JPA, and Hibernate.
- Experience with Apache Camel and Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP).
- Proficiency with Git, SVN, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Nice to Have- Experience in wireless, telecommunications, or network technologies.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring offshore development teams.
Work Environment - Location: Mississauga, ON
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid with 3 days in office.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is : $76,336 - $179,088 CAD.
