This is a hybrid position where most weeks will require between 2 and 4 days in-office, with the potential for frequent travel to local client sites.

  • Provide DFX expertise to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, serviceability, and sustainability.
  • Work independently with clients or as a lead/team member on larger projects.
  • Manage and facilitate client interactions with clear communication as it relates to deliverables, design reviews and deadlines.
  • Communicate with senior management any significant deviations from project plans.
  • Coordinate internal team staffing and budget requirements for projects.
  • Be a positive and success-oriented individual who is familiar with the latest product development, production, and rapid prototype methodologies.
  • Work with team members to resolve conflicts among resources and between clients and engineering teams.
  • Remain apprised of the progress of certain projects, paying particular attention to any developing problems, and participate in major problem resolutions.
  • Be proficient in the latest version of SolidWorks CAD package.
  • Keep all privileged information private and confidential.
  • Travel as needed (valid driver's license and vehicle required).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • 5+ years direct mechanical engineering experience
  • Industrial automation or robotics experience
  • Mechanical design and DFX, particularly with respect to sheet metal, machining and weldments
  • 2D drawing creation, GD&T
  • PLM
  • Tolerance analysis
  • Sustaining engineering
  • Project management and team leadership
