Job Summary

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading the global SAP Quality Management domain across West's enterprise applications landscape and its integrations. This role serves as the functional owner and strategic partner for SAP QM capabilities, ensuring global Quality processes are designed, deployed, governed, supported, and continuously improved across all manufacturing sites and business functions.

This position partners closely with global and site Quality teams, Operations, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Plant Maintenance, DBI, and D&T Leads to deliver scalable, compliant, and business-aligned SAP QM solutions. The role supports integration between SAP Quality Management, Plant Maintenance, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Warehouse Management, Batch Management, Document Management, analytics platforms, and other SAP and non-SAP systems.

The Senior Manager will drive global process standardization, support SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives, lead solution design for Quality-related business requirements, and ensure robust system support for validated and regulated environments. This role will also identify and enable opportunities to integrate AI, automation, analytics, and intelligent workflow capabilities into Quality processes in partnership with DBI and D&T enterprise teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the global SAP Quality Management domain and act as the primary D&T functional owner for SAP QM processes, capabilities, governance, and roadmap execution.
  • Partner with global Quality leadership, site Quality teams, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, DBI, and other business stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable SAP QM solutions.
  • Drive global standardization of Quality Management processes across manufacturing sites, including inspection planning, inspection lots, results recording, usage decisions, batch release support, certificates of analysis, quality notifications, nonconformance processes, and Quality master data.
  • Provide functional leadership for SAP QM integration with Materials Management, Production Planning, Manufacturing Execution, Warehouse Management/EWM, Plant Maintenance, Batch Management, Document Management, Regulatory systems, analytics platforms etc.
  • Leverage Plant Maintenance knowledge to support integrated Quality and Maintenance processes, including equipment calibration, inspection points, maintenance-related quality checks, preventive maintenance linkages, and asset-based quality controls.
  • Lead SAP QM solution design for global projects, enhancements, integrations, and transformation initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA global programs.
  • Collaborate with DBI and D&T stakeholders to improve Quality data visibility, reporting, analytics, dashboards, and insights for site and global Quality stakeholders.
  • Partner with business and various D&T teams to define Quality data standards, master data governance, reporting requirements, KPIs, and data integrity expectations.
  • Ensure SAP QM solutions comply with applicable regulatory, GxP, computer system validation, data integrity, cybersecurity, and internal control requirements.
  • Support validation activities for Quality-related systems and enhancements, including URS, functional requirements, testing documents such as OQ/PQ, traceability, and change control.
  • Lead and facilitate global workshops with Quality stakeholders to align on process design, system requirements, site readiness, deployment plans, and adoption needs.
  • Manage prioritization of SAP QM enhancements, incidents, defects, and project deliverables in alignment with business value, compliance requirements, operational impact, and global process standards.
  • Provide functional guidance to internal and external team members supporting SAP QM and related applications.
  • Work with enterprise architecture, solution architecture, integration, data, cybersecurity, and security teams to ensure SAP QM solutions are technically sound, scalable, secure, and aligned with West's digital strategy.
  • Support global change management, training, documentation, and adoption activities related to SAP QM process and system changes.
  • Build strong working relationships with site leadership and global/local Quality teams to ensure local needs are understood while maintaining global process consistency.
  • Monitor SAP QM process performance, recurring issues, data quality trends, and support metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure D&T delivery aligns with West values, policies, procedures, compliance standards, and business priorities.
  • This position may require to lead the SAP-QM team of 8-10 members globally.


Basic Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Quality, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in SAP Quality Management in a global manufacturing or regulated industry environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP QM configuration, business process design, integration with other domains & systems, testing, development, deployment, and support.
  • Experience working with global manufacturing sites and cross-functional business stakeholders.
  • Experience in validated system environments, including GxP change control, testing, documentation, and compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global projects, enhancements, or transformation initiatives involving SAP QM.
  • Experience working with internal teams, external partners and business stakeholders across multiple geographies globally.
  • SAP S/4HANA transformation or deployment experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance and its integration with Quality Management, calibration, equipment records, maintenance processes, and asset-related quality controls preferred.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.


Additional Responsibilities

AI, Automation, and Digital Innovation Responsibilities:
  • Partner with DBI, Quality stakeholders and D&T teams to identify practical AI and automation use cases within the Quality Management domain.
  • Support development of AI-enabled Quality insights, such as anomaly detection, quality trend analysis, deviation pattern recognition, recurring defect identification, and predictive quality indicators.
  • Evaluate opportunities to use generative AI or intelligent automation to improve Quality documentation, inspection plan analysis, test script generation, knowledge management, and root-cause investigation support.
  • Collaborate with data and analytics teams to ensure SAP QM data is structured, governed, and accessible for AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics use cases.
  • Ensure AI-related solutions used in Quality processes follow appropriate governance, validation, data privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, and human oversight requirements.
  • Promote adoption of digital tools, analytics dashboards, automated workflows, intelligent alerts, and AI-assisted decision support to improve Quality process efficiency across global sites
