Full Job Description

How we LEAD:

We seek an experienced and driven Sr. Data Product Manager - eCommerce within the Global Data & Analytics Products team.

As AI transforms how businesses operate, trusted data products become even more critical. In this role, you will ensure UMG's eCommerce data products are AI-ready by design-governed, semantically consistent, well-documented, observable, and trusted-enabling analytics, predictive models, intelligent agents, and generative AI applications to reliably consume enterprise data at scale. You'll also embrace AI as part of your own product management practice, using modern AI tools to accelerate discovery, prototyping, documentation, and collaboration while maintaining a relentless focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.

You are passionate about treating data as a product and building trusted, scalable data foundations that enable decision-making across UMG. You understand that great data products require more than pipelines-they require clear ownership, reliability, governance, usability, and stakeholder trust.

In this role, you will lead the strategy and execution of enterprise eCommerce data products and data marts that serve as authoritative sources of truth for digital commerce performance. These products will power reporting, analytics, predictive modeling, AI applications, intelligent automation, and data-driven decision-making across UMG's direct-to-consumer ecosystem.

You will partner closely with eCommerce business leaders, Product, Marketing, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Governance teams to define, build, and continuously improve trusted data products that are reliable, discoverable, and broadly adopted across the organization.

You will champion product management principles within the data ecosystem, ensuring eCommerce data products have clear roadmaps, service levels, semantic definitions, documentation, quality standards, and measurable business outcomes.

This role will report to the Sr. Director of Product Management (Data Platform).

How you'll CREATE:
  • Champion AI-ready data products by ensuring trusted business definitions, semantic consistency, metadata, lineage, documentation, observability, and governance are embedded into every data product.
  • Ensure enterprise data products are designed to support emerging AI capabilities, including semantic retrieval, intelligent agents, recommendation systems, and LLM-powered applications.
  • Partner with eCommerce, Marketing, Finance, and Analytics stakeholders to define trusted business metrics, KPIs, and data definitions.
  • Define scalable dimensional models and semantic layers that support entities such as sales, orders, customers, products, subscriptions, marketing attribution, fulfillment, and customer lifecycle reporting.
  • Establish authoritative data products that serve as the source of truth for digital commerce performance across brands, labels, and regions.
  • Partner with enterprise tech & business teams to standardize the global data layer for digital ecommerce
  • Partner with Commercial Strategy, Global Insights, and AI teams to identify opportunities where trusted consumption data products can enable artist forecasting, audience segmentation, fan engagement, trend detection, catalog optimization, and intelligent decision-support.
  • Drive standardization of business definitions for metrics such as revenue, orders, conversion, customer acquisition, repeat purchase, AOV, LTV, refunds, subscriptions, and marketing performance.
  • Partner with engineering teams to implement SLAs, monitoring, observability, incident management, and operational support processes.
  • Establish and maintain data contracts with upstream commerce platforms and source systems to improve reliability and predictability.
  • Drive adoption of eCommerce data products through business-friendly documentation, semantic models, stakeholder enablement, and training.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve data product usability and business outcomes through AI-enabled capabilities while maintaining strong governance, privacy, and data quality standards.

Bring your VIBE:
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience supporting enterprise eCommerce, direct-to-consumer (D2C), retail, or digital commerce organizations.
  • Experience delivering data products that support AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, or generative AI initiatives
  • Strong understanding of common eCommerce business processes, including product catalog, pricing, promotions, customer lifecycle, order management, fulfillment, subscriptions, and returns.
