Senior IT Analyst to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airports Data and Information Portal (ADIP). This position supports ADIP sustainment, development, and operational support, with a focus on operations and maintenance, website design and user experience, training enablement, and release management across the ADIP application portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience maintaining web-based applications and integrations, delivering accessible and responsive interfaces, supporting data quality and system performance, developing end-user resources, and coordinating reliable software releases. This role helps ensure ADIP remains stable, accessible, secure, and effective for airport data users across the National Airspace System (NAS).
Primary ResponsibilitiesOperations & Maintenance- Provide operations and maintenance support across ADIP development, test, and production environments, including applications, services, and utility modules.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and efficiency, and support timely resolution of operational issues.
- Maintain APIs, web services, system integrations, email notifications, and user access controls.
- Ensure changes are tracked and airport data remains traceable throughout applicable workflows.
- Implement data quality control procedures, validate data integrity, maintain data collection workflows, and generate standardized data metrics and utilization reports.
Website Design & User Experience- Implement and maintain responsive, user-centered web experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Apply unified visual standards and optimize interfaces for fast, efficient data rendering and intuitive navigation.
- Ensure Section 508 compliance and WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, including compatibility with assistive technologies.
- Support persona-based UI/UX design, mobile-first architecture, and the ADIP Airport Data and Information Dashboard.
- Coordinate user feedback and usability improvements that support role-specific experiences across the ADIP portfolio.
Training & Release Management- Develop and maintain end-user training materials, including user guides, newsletters, frequently asked questions, and training videos.
- Coordinate training sessions, collect participant feedback, and update training resources based on user and program needs.
- Verify system performance and release readiness before deployment in coordination with the AIT Production Support team.
- Maintain release schedules, release repositories, supporting documentation, and risk-management activities.
- Develop and maintain release automation tools or scripts that improve deployment consistency and efficiency.
Required QualificationsEducation- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Systems, Management Information Systems, IT Management, or another IT-related field. Degrees in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science may also be acceptable.
Experience- Eight (8) or more years of relevant professional experience in information technology, systems analysis, application support, operations and maintenance, web development, release management, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated Experience- Operations and maintenance of web-based applications, APIs, web services, and system integrations.
- Responsive, user-centered web and UX design and front-end delivery across multiple device types.
- Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility implementation and testing.
- Release management, deployment coordination, automation, and configuration control.
- Development of user guides, FAQs, training videos, newsletters, or other end-user enablement materials.
- Data quality management, validation, performance monitoring, and operational reporting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong understanding of application operations and maintenance, system monitoring, and incident resolution.
- Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility standards, assistive technologies, and modern user-experience practices.
- Knowledge of configuration management, release planning, CI/CD practices, and deployment automation.
- Ability to sustain a multi-application environment with high reliability, data integrity, and traceability.
- Ability to translate user requirements and feedback into intuitive, role-specific experiences.
- Strong analytical, technical documentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting the FAA or another federal aviation, airport, transportation, or data program.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks, component libraries, or enterprise design systems.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, telemetry, or application performance management tools.
- Experience supporting CI/CD release pipelines and automated deployment processes in a regulated environment.
- Experience coordinating with production support, cybersecurity, infrastructure, development, and business stakeholder teams.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Security+, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), accessibility, cloud, or related credentials.
Location: Remote within the Washington, DC metro area
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $105,000 - $133,000 yearly
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. FAA PIV card and access to Sensitive Unclassified Information (SUI) required.
