Position Description & Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Manager to lead the design, implementation, and operational management of Microsoft Azure and Azure Government (GCC High) environments. This role is responsible for driving cloud strategy, leading the engineering team, managing 24x7x365 production operations, and delivering enterprise-scale modernization initiatives, including migrations from on-premises infrastructure to Azure.

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain a DoD clearance
In this role, you will:

Cloud Strategy & Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers responsible for Azure and GCC High operations, engineering, and service delivery.
  • Develop and execute cloud adoption, migration, modernization, and operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish cloud governance, security standards, operational procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, Application Development, and business stakeholders to deliver secure and scalable cloud solutions.

Cloud Architecture & Migration
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Azure and GCC High environments.
  • Lead on-premises to Azure migration initiatives, including infrastructure, storage, applications, databases, and VMware workloads.
  • Develop and execute migration strategies including rehosting, re-platforming, modernization, and cloud-native transformation.
  • Ensure cloud solutions meet performance, availability, security, and compliance requirements.

Cloud Operations & Service Delivery
  • Manage and oversee 24x7x365 production support operations for Azure, GCC High, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Lead major incident management, problem management, escalation processes, and service restoration activities.
  • Establish operational support models, service level objectives (SLOs), SLAs, monitoring standards, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Ensure continuous availability, resiliency, and performance of mission-critical business systems.
  • Drive operational excellence through automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and process improvements.

FinOps & Cost Optimization
  • Lead Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) practices, including budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback models, and cloud cost governance.
  • Monitor Azure and GCC High consumption trends and identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, and business leaders to ensure cloud spending aligns with organizational goals and budgets.
  • Establish accountability and visibility into cloud resource utilization and costs.

Security & Compliance
  • Support compliance initiatives including CMMC, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP, and GCC High requirements.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls, identity management, monitoring, logging, and incident response capabilities.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to continuously improve cloud security posture and audit readiness.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of infrastructure and cloud engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale on-premises to cloud migration initiatives.
  • Experience managing 24x7x365 production environments supporting mission-critical systems.
  • Experience with cloud cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and FinOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, security, governance, automation, and cloud operations.
Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Experience designing and operating Azure Government (GCC High) environments.
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, or Azure Security certifications.
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) certification or equivalent cloud financial management experience.
  • Experience with Azure Landing Zones, VMware migrations, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience supporting regulated environments and federal compliance requirements.
