Full Job Description
Groupe Marcelle is currently seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner for a permanent full-time position.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Business Partner works closely with the Operations team and acts as a human resources management expert by supporting and advising managers in the development of HR plans. The incumbent also participates in the development, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of HR programs and processes.

  • Hybrid work mode -three (3) days per week in the office

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE

Business Partnership and Management Support
  • Act as the primary strategic HR partner and trusted advisor to the Vice President, Operations and their leadership team, by developing an in-depth understanding of business priorities, operational realities, labour relations issues, and workforce needs in order to influence decisions and propose high-value HR solutions
  • Provide strategic and hands-on HR support to Operations managers and employees across the full spectrum of HR matters, and advise and coach managers on performance, employee engagement, development, compensation, work organization, and change management
  • Support managers in handling complex and sensitive situations, ensuring a consistent, fair, and compliant approach in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Advise leaders during structural changes, role evolutions, and organizational transformations, and support their implementation within teams.

Labour Relations and Employee Relations
  • Act as the lead labour relations advisor for the unionized Operations groups and maintain a constructive, professional, and effective relationship with union representatives
  • Advise managers on the interpretation and application of the collective agreement, internal policies, and applicable legislation, and develop their capability to effectively manage within a unionized environment
  • Ensure rigorous management of labour relations matters, including disciplinary and administrative measures, absenteeism, disability cases, investigations, complaints, grievances, labour disputes, and other complex situations
  • Participate in meetings with union representatives, prepare and manage grievance files and their resolution, and proactively identify trends and risks in order to foster constructive labour relations and prevent issues
  • Actively participate in the preparation and negotiation of collective agreements, including issue analysis, mandate preparation, impact assessment, and the development of negotiation strategies.

Workforce Planning and Talent Management
  • Participate in strategic and operational workforce planning in order to anticipate staffing, competency, and succession needs, and collaborate with Talent Acquisition for professional, administrative, and management positions within Operations
  • Support managers in performance management processes, talent reviews, succession planning, and competency development by identifying individual and collective needs and recommending solutions aligned with operational priorities
  • Design and deliver, when required, training programs, tools, and development initiatives aimed at strengthening managers' capabilities, particularly in leadership, performance management, labour relations, and management practices.


WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including significant experience as an HR Business Partner in an operational environment
  • Strong labour relations experience in a unionized environment, ideally within a manufacturing, production, distribution, or operations setting
  • Experience in collective agreement negotiations or renewals considered a significant asset
  • Good knowledge of employment laws and labour standards applicable in Quebec
  • Demonstrated ability to build credible relationships with operational managers and influence decisions while maintaining a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach
  • Ability to effectively navigate between strategic issues and the day-to-day operational realities of the business
  • Excellent coaching, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Managerial courage, sound business judgment, professional maturity, and the ability to take a position in complex, sensitive, or conflict situations
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively leverage HR data to support decision-making;
  • Excellent command of French and good command of English
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Dayforce experience is considered an asset
  • Membership in the Ordre of Chartered Human Resources Professionals of Quebec (CRHA) is considered a strong asset.
