The Opportunity:
Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is adding a Senior Electrical Engineer to our team in San Diego, CA.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of innovative electrical systems for complex building projects. With a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset, you'll play a critical role in transforming concepts into safe, efficient, and sustainable buildings.
As a senior member of our engineering team, you will provide technical leadership, guide project teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients, architects, and construction partners. From healthcare facilities and higher education campuses to commercial developments and mission-critical infrastructure, you will help deliver successful solutions that inspire our clients.
Essential Job Functions:

• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
• Drive project execution from concept through construction administration.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
• Act as the Engineer of Record, leading technical communication with clients.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Participate in recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring a strong engineering team.
• Support and refine Glumac's technical standards, implementing best practices in the local office.
• Support business development efforts through client engagement, proposal development, and industry leadership.
Required Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience as an MEP Engineer in infrastructure and/or building systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Current Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
• Working experience with building and electrical codes.
• Experience managing staff as a direct supervisor.
• Revit experience.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong background in sustainable design is highly desirable.
• LEED AP BD+C accreditation.
• WELL certification.
Work Environment and Location:
This position offers a hybrid work environment, with a requirement of two in-office days per week in our San Diego, CA office. All candidates must be located in and eligible to work in the U.S.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the compensation scale for this role. Actual salaries will be determined based on location, experience, responsibilities, and qualifications. This salary range is just one component of Glumac's total compensation package, which includes benefits, professional development opportunities, and additional incentives.
