About the Opportunity
Array Talent Solutions is recruiting an experienced Electrical Designer on behalf of an established engineering consulting firm specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for commercial buildings.
We are seeking a technically proficient professional with a strong background in commercial building electrical design, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
This opportunity is open to experienced Electrical Designers, licensed Professional Engineers (PEs), and engineering professionals working toward their PE registration.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on design expertise, experience working with architectural clients, and the ability to contribute to project management, quality assurance, and the development of junior engineering staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems for commercial building projects.
- Develop, coordinate, and review electrical engineering drawings and construction documents.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and project requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other design professionals on multidisciplinary MEP projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical design staff.
- Assist with or lead electrical design project management activities, including schedules, coordination, and deliverables.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce and review electrical design documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience designing electrical, lighting, and fire alarm systems for commercial buildings. Candidates with slightly less experience and strong technical capabilities will be considered.
- Substantial professional experience working in U.S.-based MEP consulting engineering offices that design building systems, typically in collaboration with architectural firms.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong understanding of commercial building electrical design practices, applicable codes, and construction documentation.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to perform technical drawing reviews and contribute to project coordination.
- Demonstrated professional reliability, technical competence, and a history of meaningful contributions to previous employers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration, preferably with the ability to obtain registration in multiple states.
- Progress toward obtaining PE licensure.
- Experience mentoring junior electrical designers or engineers.
- Experience managing electrical design projects.
- Experience designing telecommunications and data communications systems.
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
A PE license is not required. Experienced Electrical Designers without professional registration are encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive Salary: Approximately $120,000 annually, depending on experience and capabilities.
