Neptune Retail Solutions is seeking a strategic and analytically driven Senior Director, Strategy and Insights to help lead the Digital Incentives Insights organization. As one of the senior leaders within the function, this individual will oversee a portfolio of key clients, manage a team of insights professionals, and serve as a primary analytics partner to Sales
This role requires a unique blend of leadership, client partnership, and hands-on analytical expertise. The successful candidate will lead a subset of the Digital Incentives Insights team while remaining actively engaged in data mining, performance analysis, insight generation, and executive-level storytelling that drives client growth and business value
Key Responsibilities
Client Portfolio Ownership & Sales Partnership
- Serve as the primary insights and analytics leader for an assigned portfolio of strategic clients and sales partners.
- Build strong, consultative relationships with Sales, Data Science, Product and client stakeholders.
- Support new business development, client retention, renewals, quarterly business reviews, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Translate business challenges into analytic solutions that drive measurable client value and revenue growth.
- Lead development and presentation of executive-level insights, business reviews, and strategic recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to expand Neptune's relationship with clients through innovative analytics and thought leadership.
- Act as a trusted advisor on digital incentives strategy, measurement, consumer behavior, and promotional effectiveness.
- Partner closely with Sales leadership to prioritize opportunities, address client needs, and drive growth within assigned accounts.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of insights professionals, providing ongoing support and guidance on all projects.
- Manage team workloads, project prioritization, staffing plans, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
- Review and elevate team deliverables to ensure analytical rigor, insight quality, and executive-ready storytelling.
- Establish best practices, processes, and quality standards that improve team effectiveness and scalability.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and succession planning efforts to build a high-performing organization.
Hands-On Analytics & Insight Development
- Personally lead complex analyses using Neptune proprietary data assets, retailer data, consumer data, and third-party datasets.
- Mine, manipulate, and analyze large data sets to uncover trends, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Develop compelling narratives that connect analytics to business outcomes and strategic opportunities.
- Design and implement measurement frameworks, KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and reporting methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve methodologies, automate processes, and create innovative analytics offerings.
- Stay current on industry trends, retailer media networks, digital promotions, loyalty programs, and emerging measurement practices.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a related role having worked directly or indirectly with a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company or a Retailer with 6+ years in a managerial/leadership capacity and prior experience at the Director level.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Data Science or related field or equivalent experience.
- Ability to digest large datasets into actionable insights. Familiar with data manipulation software (i.e. Looker, MicroStrategy, etc.)
- Proven success with client leadership including strategic needs assessment, consultative delivery, and relationship building that lead to organic renewal and expansion.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and coach team(s) on developing lasting customer relationships; act as leadership advisor to other managers and directors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative and follow through on assignments independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to listen actively, understand stakeholder needs, and provide clear, helpful guidance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
