Full Job Description
It is a mission-oriented role for a leader who can execute with excellence, coach with humility, and lead a high-performing team toward our clearly defined goal: 20% annual organic AUM growth.

We are looking for a grit-driven, inspiring leader who brings energy, accountability, and strong interpersonal presence to elevate a high-performing business development team. This role is ideal for someone who motivates others to deliver results and leads as a true player-coach with confidence, humility, and purpose.

This is an opportunity to step into a high-visibility leadership role at a firm with a proven growth engine, clear strategic direction, and meaningful momentum. You will report directly to the CEO, lead a team that is central to the firm's organic growth strategy, and help shape how True North continues to grow while integrating the strengths of firms joining through mergers and acquisitions. For the right leader, this is a chance to make a measurable impact, elevate a capable team, and help drive the next chapter of growth at a firm with both scale and purpose.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the Business Development team of four professionals through regular meetings, clear status updates, and consistent accountability for performance, priorities, and follow-through.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop the team to improve individual and collective performance through strong leadership, interpersonal effectiveness, industry knowledge, and coaching techniques that drive results.
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes, including disciplined Salesforce documentation and consistent execution of business development workflows.
  • Own the sales pipeline from top of funnel to close-including lead generation oversight, prospect conversion, and final close accountability.
  • Leverage strategic partnerships created through mergers and acquisitions by understanding the unique strengths of each organization joining True North and applying those insights to continue evolving business development processes and ensuring alignment with True North standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, investment, and advisory teams to deliver a seamless client acquisition experience.

What Success Looks Like
In the first 3-6 months, success in this role means establishing strong leadership credibility with the Business Development team, creating consistency in operating rhythm and reporting, focus on Salesforce discipline and pipeline visibility, and elevating coaching, accountability, and performance across the team. Longer term, success means measurable contribution to the firm's 20% gross organic AUM growth goal and continued evolution of a scalable, repeatable growth engine.

What This Role Is Not
  • Not a role that manages advisors or the Wealth Management team. This is a BD-focused leadership role, not an advisory oversight role.
  • Not a strategic re-write. The playbook works. Your job is to run it and refine it-not reinvent it.

Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field required
  • 10+ years of demonstrated sales leadership experience, including at least 5 years within the wealth management industry. (RIA, wirehouse, asset management, or platform-level BD.)
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Deep familiarity with high-net-worth or institutional sales, with bonus points for alternatives platform knowledge
  • Fluency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and pipeline management
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, especially in cross-functional environments

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive base salary and bonus
  • 20 days of Paid Time Off for new employees; increases to 23 days after the second year and increases from there per a schedule
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • Volunteer Days Off
  • Free Financial Planning services for employees and their spouses
  • Fun and energetic work environment!
